Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Were top of the table, now potentially 8 points off top.
Were 3rd in the CL, now outside the Top 8.
Were unbeaten in the PL for a long long time, now lost 3 in a row.
Are out of the League cup already.

Cling on to that 2nd position all you want, but it wont last long either. The reality is there are problems in attack, midfield and defence. I think the defence can be fixed as we've the personnel for it (and Dias will be back too, we can rotate Walker with Akanji), but midfield and attack will have the same issues.

But this bad run will end and maybe we will be in good precision to challenge when it matters

Can’t see it. We got dicked off a shite Tottenham side missing 3 key players. We’ve been outplayed by average sides and squeaked past others. Liverpool will be 11 clear by end of next weekend. Major surgery required on the squad.

But there are no guarantees that major surgery and new signings will work over night

A midfield of Bernardo, Gundo, Rico and Phil is simply far too weak. That’s it in a nutshell. Add in defenders coming back from injury, and not match fit then there’s the issuue.

What to do is a different matter. I’d have certainly preferred us to start Nunes and/or KDB. I’d be interested to know why they didn’t. Far be it from me to question Pep, but the starting midfield so obviously lightweight.

As a thought, maybe the fact that there is no competition for places is having an impact. Or the absence of players on the training ground is impacting training sessions.

Foden,Lewis need to fuckung wake up. Savinho needs to know where the goal is. Walker needs to empty his balls as his sperm is clearly weighing him down. He has no pace. Every player cannot pass or find players. I feel for Haaland , . Yesterday was pathetic

Feel for Haaland he missed 5 chances at least today

I still scratch my head this morning how we can have 23 attempts on goal and not score ! Yet nearly every team we play seems to have a ridiculously high conversion rate from far less attempts….

I don’t know quite where to start but our midfield would be high up the list. Gundo, Rico and Bernardo were all easily out muscled….

We simply must find a way to win on Tuesday and then somehow avoid defeat at Anfield…

I’ll be there again on Tuesday and watching from behind the settee on Sunday

A lot on here don't rate Doku but I think he's been a big miss these last few weeks. Miles better than Savio.
Dont think its about being better than Savinho...he has way moe experience for starters...
Sav from the bits we have seen looks like he has real potential.....offers more than others who are way more experienced

Less than two years ago we were losing 2-0 to Tottenham at the Etihad but Mahrez rose from the bench and turned the tide in our favour

That's the biggest difference for me because at some point our poor recruitment was going to be exposed

Yes we've got injuries but even with everyone fit our bench looks weaker and certainly doesn't look full of goals
Agree, the bench in the CL 18 months ago had Foden, Alvarez, Mahrez, Walker, Laporte etc.. all players who could have easily started that game and wouldn't have made the starting 11 any weaker.

We are now looking to the likes of Nunes, Savinho, Macatee etc who are all currently a level below what we need/had previously. Even more baffling considering we've let a fair few academy graduates leave who are all standing out in the prem for various clubs.
