Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Gundo, Bernardo and Rico were all invisible once again. Hard to put into words how bad our midfield has been this season
All three were very visible, giving the ball away and starting spuds counters. Specially Rico, too lightweight and dallying and turning too long.

But, can we relearn how to mark, how to defend?

Getting worse. Liverpool is gonna be horrific. Nothing about this team atm, looked outnumbered all over the field and they had a makeshift back 4. Piss poor that this team has fuck all goals in it, when haaland isn't firing. Huge changes needed in summer and in this showing its gonna take a few windows. The lack of subs is really starting to piss me off, the kids can't do any worse, can they??

Most during the international break were talking about playing Liverpool, and all i kept saying to myself, hang on, we've got the spuds first. Let's see if we can navigate our bogey team first

Some thoughts:
1. Injuries to our squad should not be discounted. We are seriously depleted, and it's going to effect our play.
2. Rodri is the best player in the world. See point number 1.
3. Haaland is amazing, but would do better in a system that allowed for a little more freedom of movement. It's hard for him when most of our offense is in the final third of the pitch. That sort of play does not go well with his skills.
4. What the hell is wrong with Phil? He's a shell of what he was last season. I hate to say it, but management might want to think about selling him while the pounds are there.
5. We need a centre back. Maybe 2.
6. Gundo is done. Love him, but he's done.
7. Savinho is quite good, and he almost has it, but doesn't yet.

I think this team is goosed both physically and mentally. They've had loads of big games and given everything over the last few years. The risk is that Pep may be flogging a dead horse this season. That's what it looks like right now. Recent transfer business now looks poor in hindsight too. Easy to say. There's always a risk when bringing in new players. When a team's been at the very top for so long it is normal to see a drop off. This is it. Only Pep will know whether things can be salvaged. Right now top 4 needs to be the focus and anything else is a bonus. Come on City.

Just had my 18 year old son telling me that losing 5 in a row is far worse than when we got relegated down to league 1 because he is so used to us winning. ....maybe our current run will make some of our 'newer' fans a little more grateful for our successes and a little more respectful of all our years of loyal support when we really were shit.
