Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

“I wouldn't mind losing 4-0 if we were seeing O'Reilly or Wright or McAtee given a chance to develop.”
Sentimental bollocks.
Il have anybody on the pitch as long as I don’t have to watch that performance from Walker ever again. Not even sure sheff Utd would entertain him these days. Pace has left the building and he has little or no technical ability. Thanks for your your efforts and contribution to past successes but time to move on

A useful cushion for when we burst back into life.

Spurs were 6/1 to win today, madness.

Liverpool are 6/4 for next weekend, again utter madness. These bookies don’t have a clue.

This team is absolute muck just now - attitude, work rate, mentality, players well past their sell by date. Huge January ahead of us to try plug some gaps and salvage what’s looking like a sorry season.

The cunts might finish above us this season
What are you basing that on?

Has this forum all of a sudden decided to wave white flags where we are not even half way into the season? Do the naive in here not realise Slot and his murderers will, fucking WILL, go on their slump?

Jesus Christ. And the best of it is this with positive posts are being called wums and rags.

Strange fucking fan base.

the other issue is tactics. why come out all guns blazing AGAIN. make it a dull game, stick your midfielders deep and the full backs in line with the centre backs. tire out the opposition with dull possession and get into the second half without giving away easy counter attacks.
But we had chances when we came out all guns blazing. If our attacking players had been on their game it might have been totally different.

Love this forum. Absolute wet lettuces who know nothing other than being spoilt

For the empty heads, this is football. Sometimes you go through a major slump, the same ones you all enjoy other clubs’ demise when they’re going through it.

We WILL be champions come May.

And then you can all take your faces for a massive dump an apologise.

Sorry that's bollocks given probably at least 60% of our fanbase, those of us still alive, were there all through the dark days.
We knew the outstanding success we've had wouldn't last forever, it's just a bit of a shock to see how quickly we've hit the wall. Well maybe not given our recent recruitment has been underwhelming to say the least. Sure injuries have crippled us ( No pun intended ) and we may just get back to winning ways when we get a few players back. As for winning the title? I'd say if we do it will be Peps finest. We will go to Anfield, where we rarely win, probably eight points behind Liverpool. Lose and it's eleven and this injury prone and ageing squad isn't making that gap up. Of course in typical City fashion we may go there and win against the odds, I just wouldn't put any cash on it.

Back home and trying to reflect a bit on the game but what has struck me is that I'm neither gutted nor fuming. That is very unusual as a loss always equates to a shit few days until I get over it but this feels very different.

I can only assume that our underwhelming season so far has prepared me for this result. It has been clear that we have far too many players running on fumes with nothing left to give and it all came together in a perfect shit sandwich a few hours ago :(

Rag?! No. And that’s a fucking insult

What it is, is positive and realistic way of looking at our recent history and dominance, but that is clearly lost on our new, glory hunting, spoilt twat ‘fans’
Positive and realistic? Saying we will be champions? That's arrogance and screaming RAG, which is ironic because you are moaning at fans for not being used to losing etc. A City forum will have fans discussing City, win or lose. If it's lose there may be some unhappy people. They are entitled to be unhappy, especially the ones who had to pay north of £70 today.

What an absolute dog shit post. We have just been tonked 4 nil at home, making it 5 losses on the spin. Fans are allowed to voice their displeasure and anger. Claiming we will be champions is rag as fuck. Gimp
Absolutely right. You can't say anything against the mighty blues....they can do no wrong ...and even when they play possibly the worse home performance in the last 10 years with what looked like zero effort you must not say anything bad because we won the champion league don't you know.

Fuck me
Absolute wank today....and yes I fucked off early . The first time since Gillingham at wembley. If they can't be arsed....neither can I.

I totally do and you are entitled to your opinion but you are wrong if that display was impressive.
4-0 and well deserved away win at the champions who hadn't lost at home in what 2 years or so? No not impressive at all. As I say, footy isn't for everyone

Foden not what he’s cracked up to be fucking useless for England no problem with that but should be dictating games today especially when credit to spurs they are wide open ….

Interesting times at City in the most unexpected way - but we've been getting away with it all this season until the last 5 games, even before the latest set of injuries hit us. The big hangover from last season, and now with players who are playing catch-up with fitness during games - when you're at the top level, that's a tall order. It's looking like some can't make it back to their former levels, and by any standards - not just City's and Pep's - tonight was an absolute shit-show.

I'd say "Well done Spurs" but they didn't do anything other than play almost exactly as we all anticipated. As usual, we made a good start, but, going 1-0 down again - against a good counter-attacking team - I think we all feared what was going to happen as the clock ticked down. Ederson kept the score down to an embarrassment, rather than a complete humiliation - though some of you may argue 4-0 at home is a humiliation.

Pep IS the man! Now, it's not merely about winning but facing our realities and stopping the rot. No better place for that than in the bear-pit at Anfield next week. What's the great man going to come up with? Honestly, I can't say, or second guess what he's likely to do. Would a 4-0 loss there be a disgrace, after tonight?

Anyway. I can live with an embarrassment or two after following City for 60 years and seeing how shit we once were. We're still 2nd in the league. The rebuild is coming. I just hope I can survive till it starts in January - and avoid suicide.

Keep the faith!

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Too many heads in the sand for the last couple of seasons. We've been very lax in succession planning. The writing has been on the wall for the likes of Walker, De Bruyne, and Bernardo for ages. Gundogan left at the right time and was persuaded to come back... it hasn't worked out.
We've needed a left back for years and back-ups for Haaland, Stones and Rodri should have been priorities.
Doku and Savinho are huge downgrades on Mahrez and Cole Palmer. Nunes is simply not good enough at top level.

No wonder Txiki has chucked it in. Flogging Palmer, Delap and Harwood-Bellis (all of whom would have stayed if they actually felt wanted) was just daft.
And no back up striker since Alvarez left.

Then you are blind, they were fantastic. Passed us off the park, fast, direct and dangerous every time they came forward. So many times they had it in their left back area, with us pressing and a few passes later they are on the attack. Really impressed by them.
Not blind at all we could and should have had 2 or 3 goals and we were dog shit so how does that equate to excellent 3 or their four goals came from horrendous mistakes by us Like I said they were the better team but not excellent just check the stats and I repeat we were shite Ipswich beat them last week at home as well

6/1???? Fucking hell I would have braved the torrential rain to get to a bookies if I'd known that!

Things just aren't clicking at the minute. Passing is of by a few inches, decision making is a few milli seconds of. Shots just abit of. Players not fully fit. Players of the pace coming back. The world's best player out for the season. Team is struggling and lacking confidence. Team struggling to cope with all of this.
Plus everything that could go wrong is going wrong.
Add into the mix we are everyone's cup final ! I bet spuds lose their next game ;)

This team needs support now.
Spot on with this; sometimes things just don't go your way, a bad bounce, a miss hit pass, a deflected shot, the opposition scoring with their first chance, yes I know it has happened quite a bit this season but football is a confidence game and if things aren't coming off as usual then even the best players start lose it.
We need a couple of scrappy win with lucky goals, bounces going the right way then the confidence will come back and you will see a different team.
One or two are perhaps their best but the rest haven't become crap overnight.
GITG is right the team needs our support more than ever now.
