Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I amongst many of us have seen us been beat off the likes of bury & stockport in the past this “crisis” pales into insignificance compared to them days, plenty of our “newer” fans won’t be used to us getting beat every week, “we were their when we were shit” CTID
That's not the point though. We had piss poor players and managers then and that was our natural level. That isn't the case now.

Whilst not a crisis it's clear that a rebuild and refresh is urgently needed.

That felt... existential. Definitely the worst it's ever been under Pep, arguably the worst it's been since the last few months under Pellegrini. Probably the most desperate it's been since the takeover, come to think of it.

It's down to five or six major issues all hitting at once.

Bad injuries to crucial players (Rodri, Kevin, Dias), the players being selected to start aren't fit (Walker, Stones, Akanji, Foden), the trio of experienced players we do have (Walker, Bernardo, Gundogan) have all lost their legs, we're experiencing burnout after four intense seasons, our new signings aren't clicking, and the current run of fixtures is totally unforgiving.

Losing the league is no shame, especially after how much this team has given. But top four could be a serious concern if we don't regroup and refresh in January. This amazing team is, sadly, finally giving out after years of operating at the highest level - it deserves to be given the best possible chance of going out on a high. Get that Txeckbook out for one last time.

Some thoughts:
1. Injuries to our squad should not be discounted. We are seriously depleted, and it's going to effect our play.
2. Rodri is the best player in the world. See point number 1.
3. Haaland is amazing, but would do better in a system that allowed for a little more freedom of movement. It's hard for him when most of our offense is in the final third of the pitch. That sort of play does not go well with his skills.
4. What the hell is wrong with Phil? He's a shell of what he was last season. I hate to say it, but management might want to think about selling him while the pounds are there.
5. We need a centre back. Maybe 2.
6. Gundo is done. Love him, but he's done.
7. Savinho is quite good, and he almost has it, but doesn't yet.
Feel sorry for Savinho, only 20 new to the league and I think being played more than pep wanted to due to injuries. Lad badly needs a goal, but his assist stats are not that high through no fault of his own i.e that chance the big man passed up in the first half put it the wrong side of the keeper.

Our club has had to put up with shit from the minute we were taken over from all outlets but we rose above it all, no one can go years without catching a cold at some point. Even the biggest rabid dog is trying to have a bite at the moment, the FA. all with the same aim, to destabilise us.
We are in the middle of a massive investment in the north stand and Pep has signed a new contract. OK perhaps we are in a little slump at this moment but I'm so grateful to our owners for giving me the best years ever, and if ever anyone thinks our owners are going to let this club and this business slide are not on this planet. Even a sleeping giant has to have a kip every now and then. I have watched and supported Manchester City for 69 years and I know how much faith I have in this present ragime. Come on City.
