Its time to look atthe bigger picture.....the mainstay of this team has finished it cycle.......Gundo is done and dusted, Stones cannto be trusted sue to constant injury issues...walker has lost 2 yds of pace and KDB wont finish half a season let alone a full one.

The immediate issue is the midfield....we arent getting Rodri back until May (and there is zero point in rushing him back - no point in him playing a few games and risking it).

Gundo is done - he is giving nothing in terms of attack or defence. ...he shoudlnt get near the pitch after that performance but will most likely have to start due to no other options.

Rico Lewis - he has the techincal skill in tight areas...but neither is he good enough going forward or running back towards his own goal (which he doesnt have the physicality to do) ...there are better fullbacks and there are better central midfielders out there esp for a team that wants to win things. ..his main skill is in the small spaces passing and recieving in them....but that is it.

Stones - plays 2-3 games at most and then injured- he is a quality player but you need a bigger squad and better options to accommodate him. ...if he was fit and could stay fit he is almost a perfect fit to cover Rodri....however the simple fact is that he is not.

We are seeing teams week on week having a free run at our back four or back 2 as our midfield cannot recover and we we cant keep posession in the middle third and attacking third...Rico and GUndo are extremely guilty of that

And those thinking KDB is going to change anything are wrong..yes he will improve us but he wont solve the bigger issue..he may add a bit more creativity but we are swapping Gundo who cant run for a KDB who cant run but has more creativity.....

We are now in a battle for top 4 .....the scousers wont be able to wait to play us.....others to...sit deep wait for us to lose and pass through our non existant midfield with our fulbackstoo high who then (along with the midfielders) cant recover. .....rinse and repeat...

Where to start.

The fall off now is real and it’s a shame.

Some players have lost the plot and some have aged.

We are currently a busted flush.

Try to get through to Jan and accept we have to spend big it’s just that time again.

These players have done an unbelievable job but it’s time to say goodbye. Let’s hope we can rally to start to get it together and pick up points.

This was always going to happen.

The club has made recruitment mistakes but we can fix them in the next 2/3 windows.

Buckle up blues.
I agree with most of this. We have been crippled by injuries but some players' legs have gone while some inexperienced ones should be coming off the bench not starting repeated matches. No point naming them because we all know who they are. It does feel like the end of a cycle. Pep knows this and thankfully wants to sort it out. We have to spend big in January and we can afford it.

We've seen this team decline individually and as a team for 2 seasons. Bernie / Gundogan/ Kdb / Stones /Walker are past it . We've seen it slowly happening and I truly believe we set up this season to change our style.
Injuries and reliance on "old" players set us back.
Big big decisions to be made now.

We were running on empty for most of last season but found ways to win.

This team has done the treble and 4 in a row, that is fucking amazing.

The season isn't over but we need some energy from somewhere and speed.

A drop of was always going to come at some point and a rebuild needed.

Our fans were fucking amazing

Exactly same as sporting game. Chance after chance wasted and every time they went on the attack they score. HAVE to bring a 6 in, in January

Abysmal performance after an encouraging 1st 10 minutes. Lewis and Gundogan have been frankly appalling for weeks but were again entrusted with holding our midfield together....add in a misfiring Phil and it's not going to end well.
Big Erl misses a few early chances and then they score....as per (recent) usual, we fold.
What worries me about Rico is his complete lack of pace and stamina at this level....several times he was jogging back in the 1st half like he is 34.
Savinho is like Navas with no end product.
Foden is a shadow of the player he was last season, lost the ball for their 1st and was poor.
What is with our shooting/heading..ballooning it miles over the bar.
Fans were great, loved the noise near the end...brilliant.
Just need to strengthen midfield in the January window and ensure we get top 4...buy wisely in summer and we go again.

The board for me...

Stop penny pinching and spend some money for fucks sake.

How can we win so much over the years , win so much prize money, ect.. and don't make statement signings..

Charges or not.. the team and the game goes on in the meantime..
To be fair we have spent but we have spent on mediocre players. Nunes, kovavic and Phillips is best part of 120 mil there.

During the Pep era, wins and losses for a team like ours, which usually has much more talent than our opposition, are down to the players rather than tactics, but given our less talented squad than in years past, this is just madness from Pep, at this point.

Why is Walker playing against the statistically best-pressing team in the league? He can’t pass the ball with his left foot and gives hospital pass after hospital pass with his right. It would be one thing if he could still run or defend, but he hasn't for two years. Why do blues think Pep benched him in the UCL final? He once again was at the crime scene for all their goals, certainly the second. He looked like he was running back in treacle in the TWEFLTH minute.

Why is Gundo still starting? He hasn’t performed well for us even once since his return(which I was against for the record). He can’t run anymore and is hesitant to get on the ball. Who cares if Nunes turns the ball over occasionally in the midfield? At least he can run and get us upfield from our half. I don’t understand why Pep won’t give him a few game runs.

This doesn’t even mention how out of wack we look off the ball on the whole. Teams have been playing through us even more quickly than they did in 17/18. I’ve mentioned this before, but we don’t have the right squad to compensate for Haaland up top. He’s not built to press like a Gabriel Jesus/Alvarez, and we don’t have the legs/physicality behind him. If he’s not his usual clinical self, he becomes a liability.

This is Pep’s worst squad, partly due to him(not allowing a homegrown Palmer to go on loan and okaying the selling of other now prominent, instrumental players). Also, the injury to Bobb can’t be overstated. He’s the real deal and is/was a significant loss. I’d rest him the rest of the season, so he’s 100% for years forward. We need substantial investment, which I wonder is even in question. Even if we beat the majority of charges, I struggle to think we won’t be handed a considerable fine.

A downseason is expected after years of dominance, but we’re worryingly crap. A top-four fight on our hands is the absolute reality.
Our full backs when defending are depressingly bad. Just as bad going forward today as well.

Uff that taken a lot out of me. I guess we move on, feels like we need to just get a win to get some momentum going. We just got pressed and countered to hell. Walker needs to be rested and Ake/Dias need to come back in. Also Stones needs to get into Gundos place.

Said it before
We just can’t defend
Gvardiol is playing like a winger but can’t defend to save his life
He needs resting
Hopefully Ake can stay fit and play there
Walker simply dreadful today
His time is up with us
Lewis does nothing offensively and not a lot more defensively
Thought Gundo did ok but seems to be getting stick left right and centre…at least he tries
KDB looked good on the positive side
We desperately need him fit
Onward and hopefully upwards
Gvardiol great player but my god what a pussy..
