That's honestly my concern, there are several teams looking more likelycan we get top 4? i am not sure.
You do know that as shite as we are we're beating the mickeys next week! The problem we have at the moment is who do we fetch in to improve that team out there today for the Liverpool game?
Kovacic is injured, Kev isn't fully fit, Stones can only play 45 minutes if that.
Unless Pep miraculously comes up with some new tactics in a week then that team is going to get swamped at Anfield. In other words we'll get battered.
Ideally a fit Dias, Ake, Akanji and Stones/Gvardiol make up the back four. Out go Walker and Lewis. Who shields the back four though? To be honest I'd fetch that kid in who has played a couple of games. He can't do any worse than Gundogan, Bernardo or Foden on current form. They will probably have to play unless Kev's fitness is 100%, then he replaces Gundogan who is a passenger at the moment. Grealish has to come in. That's about it. Do I think that's enough to get a result at Anfield? No but I'd hope they'd make a better fist of it than the team we had out today. Sadly unless a few of that lot suddenly hit peak form we've got zero chance.
Been an amazing player for us a club professional (betting get is cock out on nights out) however he is not a leader or captain material at allUnfortunately I have to agree with this.
His off field antics alone should have him nowhere near the captaincy. We are in the trenches at this period in time and when we need a leader to steady the ship, Walker isn't that man.
Huge downgrade from the likes of Vinny and Fernandinho.
Does it mean we can all go back and support chelsea?
Come on chelsea. Yeah.
Taking chances is the key as we had over twice as many shots as them. One issue is we rely on Haaland and when he misfires its a major issue. In the past we had Alvarez,Jesus, Stirling and Mahrez all in double figures. We can't rely on the current batch to score. Our left back looks most likely to score than the rest. And Spurs didn't play that well either. Not being used to that result is going to have a chastening effect on a few of our fans but we'll have to take it on the chin.
That is a sobering post and not far from the truth. Been a long time since only one or two players would get into any top 6 squad. We’re used to having more than a few world-class players all over the pitch. Only Rodri and Haaland fit that description. Big rebuild head. There was a moment in the second half when Neville referred to our previous side which had Aguero, Sterling, Sane, David Silva, peak KDB and Fernandinho. Everyone of those players would have started for every other PL side.
Compare that to now and I think only Haaland and Rodri are dead certs for every other PL side. I think that shows the drop in quality that we currently have.
I know stats are not everything but we have too many passengers in this current side. Grealish, Savinho, Doku, Bernardo and Gundogan will be lucky to get 10 goals and 10 assists between them in the PL this season.
Alas Savinho is not Mahrez…..He gives the ball away cheaply and often when he’s under no pressure. He is also yet to show any sort of end product whatsoever. Wouldn’t get near the starting line up for me yet in all honesty.
He’s also a complete fanny, sadly. Talented no doubt, but I don’t think he’s ready for this yet.
Rico and Savinho need taking out of the team next week. Not a game for them. The problem we have at the moment is who do we fetch in to improve that team out there today for the Liverpool game?
