If we are picking a side based on eliminating the poor performers we would struggle with a 5 a side team. I would like maffeo and Garcia in the team but unfortunately one was deemed not good enough to be given a chance over our quality right backs and Garcia is behind Fernando, zab, toure, delph, old Tom Cobbly such is his standing. Fingers crossed we have a good day and the players show at least a modicum of heart. Anyhow my team

Bravo(make yourself big, keep your legs together, stand tall and get down quick all in one go)

Stones. Kompany
Sagna. Fernando Kolorov
Sterling. Garcia. Silva. Sane
Aguero

Possibly WUM going on here but if not then I would love half of whatever you're on.....

Hes an absolute liability, fantastic at that little faint he does before he passes the ball but apart from that hes garbage, he cant make a save that's not bread and butter. Of the keepers ive seen at City inc, Hart, Willy, Given, James, Weaver, Seaman ect Bravo is bar far the worst.
Does anyone base any of the opinion on Bravo on his games for Barcelona or Chile?

When he was winning loads of stuff and regarded as one of the best in the world. As opposed to a 4 month spell at at a new club with no pre-season and an either ageing or completely inexperienced defence in front of him playing an entirely new system.

3 at the back would be suicidal. that team has almost no defensive cover against spurs - one of the best attacking teams.

Nope it'll put them on the back foot and with Alderweild out it's the right time to do it.
Nahh it will push there fullbacks back if we keep at it pressuring them but we would need to take our chances

Exactly.

Agreed. 352 would be my choice as well. It's not like our full backs are remotely decent this season anyway.

Very true, I'd rather not see any of them again tbh.

Wrong thread, but he was on a hiding to nothing before he even trained with us because of who he replaced. Their bias was established well before his debut.

----------------Bravo
Sagna--Kompany--Oramendi--Kolarov
---------KDB----Silva
Sane-Sterling--Aguero--jesus

With fullbacks pushed up. I know it's very attacking but I'd still do it. As long as we score more than the opposition it doesn't matter and that front 6 is as good as any team in world football

If we can't defend, lets at least play to our strengths rather than see our attacking compromised by trying to shore the defence up

The only change I would make to that is to put navas at right back. Then of the 11 players on the pitch 9 of them would be primarily attack minded. Or we could play a keeper. Hmmm decisions....

What? Yes, they are both quite clearly faster than Rose and Walker respectively.

And you clearly didn't watch the Spurs Chelsea game then, because the 2 pairs of wingbacks were equal, which is why they targeted Azpilicueta's height. Just because Spurs won the game doesn't mean that every Spurs player was better than their counterpart.

Edit -Oh hang on, I see. You're a Spurs fan, that makes sense.

In that case, sure pal, no one is faster than Rose and Walker, no one. They are the best fullbacks in the world.

Clearly faster than Walker and Rose? You have to be joking. Walker is lightning fast and Rose isn't far behind. Sorry pal, but I am not having it that they are both clearly faster. I've never seen Walker beaten for pace by anyone.

I did watch the Spurs Chelsea game, in fact I watched it twice. A big part of Spurs winning was the fact that Rose and Walker pegged back the chelsea wing backs. Basically we played them at their own game, but because we had better wing backs than they did, they lost much of their attacking impetus. Moses was tormented by Rose for example. Rewatch the game and see how often Rose was fouled by them.

And yes, they are two of the best fullbacks in the world. Can't think of many better leftbacks around than Rose over the past two seasons.

Spurs are not great away from home just 4 victories! Vertongen being out is a big blow for them. I expect them to sit deep and try and play on the break! Really fancy us for this game 4-1-4-1 as i expect spurs to go back to a 4-3-3

Do you really think Sane and Sterling are going to push Rose and Walker back? It's much more likely Rose and Walker will dominate them both and you'll be pinned back, with Sterling and Sane acting as defenders which would be a recipe for disaster. Rose and Walker are tailor made for the wing back role. Sane and Sterling are not wing backs. That formation will not end well.
No one has ever pinned City back. We get done on the counter - like at Everton. 4 attacks 4 goals. We had the vast majority of possession but it meant nothing in the end.

I'd be amazed if Pochettino seds Spurs out to attack, it will be sit back and counter. He'd be a fool to do otherwise. Everyone does it. Even Liverpool at home who apart from City are the most offensive club in the country. Our weaknesses are obvious. Clearly you will play to them.

Clean sheet please.

Yes as well from me but think that might be a tough ask. We are going to need pace ourselves in this one, so i hope Sterling and Sane will play out wide. G.Jesus will offer us a different type of movement up front as well and one that for the opposition is an unknown quantity, which goes in our favour.

Hopefully Vinny get game time, not sure if he will start but we have missed his presence on the pitch so much. Spurs are going to go for this as their tails are up, we might be wise to control the game as we do, but press them fast when they have it and break at pace

I'd be surprised if they just sat back

Expecting a big response after last weeks shambles. With city you never know what to expect but im going 3-1 as spurs are not great away. Would love a ticket for this game if anyone got 1 spare.

Apart from Spurs at WHL. We outplayed you that game and even your manager said that.
