Absolutely gutted. The players gave their all and they were so hungry for this. As has been said the first tie coloured the second and away goals always going to be a risk. Too much rotation of our back line for me over recent games. Laporte and Stones should have played. I know Laporte caused errors last night but not easy to keep playing with a different partner. The fact that Sane and Fern did not start makes no sense at all. Think we have really missed Zinny as well. Funny how spurs are a much better side without Kane. Full strength side Saturday including Leroy and Fern. Hopefully Zinny is fit and let’s get behind the lads again and get the three points! Let’s not let the season drift!

The week from hell coming up, my 47 years City supporting head is telling me that. That result last night might kill us, it will take some team to bounce back from a shattering defeat and exit from the champs league.
Those players can't play another intense 90 mins, so I think Pep will make lots of changes, something like this:

Ederson
Danilo
Zinchenko?
Otamendi
Stones
Fernandinho
Mahrez
Foden
De Bruyne
Sane
Jesus

Subs: Muric, Walker,Laporte,B.Silva, Sterling, Aguero, Gundogan

1-1

Tbh you always pick 1-1 ;-)

Ederson
Walker Kompany Laporte Mendy
Fern
B.Silva KDB
Sterling Aguero Sane

Still going for Laporte, he is quality and he can be forgiven for mistakes because he has looked solid all season. Mendy because I don't think Zinchenko is back but Mendy needs games to settle back into it, he made a few bad passes last night but he is looking better every game.

D.Silva I don't think affects the game enough at the moment and I can't understand why Sane can't get more than 20 minutes.

Retaining the title has always been the priority. The manner of yesterday was devastating but I am 100% expecting 3 points on Saturday. Spurs will be just as tired if not far more than our players considering how battered they were in the 2nd half. We have the luxury to make a few changes, but KDB, Bernardo and Sterling have to start

Being cautious has been our downfall. Would rather go down all guns blazing than carefully pick teams off, so sound the trumpets and make substitutions early.

Stongest team which means no Mahrez.

Id rest David Silva and play Lerow and put Bernardo more central.

Ferna to start instead of Ilky

Other than that same team as tonight though I suspect pep will rotate maybe fullbacks and centre halves somewhere

I dont get this attitude of lets play everyone who is fucked from last night to keep a certain player from playing - ridiculous

Mahrez inclusion might well be the strongest team avail

smash the lucky fuckers................

i bet they get an awarded an offside goal which VAR would have ruled out.

YCFMIU

Leroy has to start ffs, we need a win just to get last night out of our system, win, lose or draw im banning all media from my life until June, just hope Barca win the champions league, and Ajax finish runners up.

The problem I see, real or not, is whether we have the mental resources to go again. SPurs may have smaller playing resources but they don't have to deal with the impact of a massive defeat.

It maybe good to play again so soon. No one knows how the players will react and what the best way to deal with it is. Do we reshuffle the side? We also have to be aware that the players are running low on resources and there are big games to come.

If this was a one off game in the league, or we had won last night I'd be very confident but now we have a huge unknown thrown into the equation. I would say we need a mix of experienced players and fresh legs. And we need to use our subs very well.

Mendy did some good things last night, and bad. It's a huge ask to play in such huge games after the time he has out. Whether he can play such big games back to back when his knee was recently swelling who knows. If he can, then clearly he is over his injury problems and it's just a case of getting his fitness back. He must only be at about 60%.

Because a half fit De Bruyne sterling sane or Bernardo is still twice as good as mahrez
And we need a win
If we’re 3-0 up bring him on to save legs
Otherwise let’s try to win

I think our players will react well to last night, Pep wouldn't let it be any different.

Spurs have plenty of injuries, Kane, Winks, Sissoko and Alli probably won't be risked. Add to that their other games are more winnable, so Pochettino might rotate for this one.

I honestly think we'll batter them and I hope we don't let up on them either, let our players get last nights frustration out of their system.
