In other words, you don't know. But you're prepared to pooh-pooh anyone who shows even a modicum of logical sense.

Logic and facts are two different things. It's logical that they could've sold off some assets as well, but this is all hearsay. They will sell one day for a healthy profit, and everyone will say, "WTF was all that about?"
But you don't have any facts either, just a "logical" summation of what makes the most sense to you. You've no right to hold the knowledgable stance when you can only disprove anyone else when having a viewpoint such as that.

Glazer could be doing a business master stroke OR he could be fucking you over, and by what many Blues on here have seen and commented on, it's most likely the latter.

The club has announced profits of 100 million in the past year. When next years results come out it will be even more, after the 70 million windfall from reaching the Champions league final etc..

The Glazers could take this money if they wanted to. The reason they don't, is because the success of the team means that the overall value goes up. They owe 477million on paper, but we know the club is worth over a billion. The sale of the club will bail out all of their other debts in one fell swoop and earn them a tidy profit. It will be monumental.

Ah ha

And in this economic downturn, who is going to purchase a football club for over £2billion (Glazer's not going to sell it without making a profit now is he, plus there's that little matter of the debt being paid off) for a club that only makes a seasonal profit of £100m (which you actually haven't yet)?

They'd have to wait 20 years, and that's only with continued success and modest transfer spending, to break even on their investment. Now without resorting to "an Oil Sheikh" who do you expect to come up with this money?

A Club like anything else is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. On paper that you know of they owe 477m this does not include or incorporate the money that red soccer borrowed to pay off the PIKS, this years accounts also have the not inconsiderable amount of a sponsorship deal that was frontloaded and last years accounts had the sale of ronaldo, your overall profit per year wont be 100m but just because you wont listen to reason lets say that it is.

In your world in this economy a benefactor is going to come in pay 1bn at its lowest for something that given your calcualtions wont see a profit for a minimum of 10 years, this would be without signing any new players, selling out your ground every year, reaching the champions league final every year, having no pay raises or any new staff and raising ticket prices each year when you cant sell your current ground.

On top of that who is going to want to wait around for 10 years for a profit on a 1bn investment and want to put up with the hassle that utd fans have put the glazers through, as you said you have been more succesful than ever before with the glazers in charge yet you still protested against them and tried to force them out.

Now let me think im a billionaire am i gonna invest that cash to buy a brand that apart from its own fans is universally hated, whose own fans protest even when they are succesful, is controlled by a force that will long reverberate round the corridors long after he goes, has had success which is unappreciated by the fans and is protested against ( what would u be like if you had a couple of lean seasons ) am i gonna put myself through that for a possible 10% per year of my investment depending on lots of factors which probably wont ring true or am i gonna keep my money what do you think wheres the upside?

SPURS HYPOCRITE ALERT!

''Tottenham spent almost £150m on transfers in the last 16 months, making them the second highest spenders in the Premier League behind Manchester City.

Spurs spent £119.3m in the year ending June 2009, with another £29.4m invested since on the likes of Peter Crouch, Sebastien Bassong and Niko Kranjcar.

It eclipses the sums paid out by each of the 'big four' of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal''

Tottenham = Corinthians

Yeah right

is this the same gentleman who, in his country's successful 2022 world cup bid, committed to building a load of new stadia so all games would be played in qatar, each with a fully enclosed air conditioned environment to overcome the extreme summer heat and each of which would be dismantled & shipped out to africa after the event? because only a couple of weeks later sepp blatter said that games could be farmed out to neighbouring countries & the world cup could be shifted to winter to avoid the extreme summer heat even though it would disrupt most european domestic football programmes for at least 2 and up to 4 years.

if you seriously believe in him the you probably also believe that a fat bloke in a red suit shimmies down your chimney on christmas eve.

Yes. They want to be noticed. Infact, I can see lots of billionaire Arabs slugging it out and trying to be top dog in the middle east. The premiership will be the worlds most expensive camel race in the future.
