Spurs-The bitterness is reaching dipperlike proportions

You'll always find amusing posts no matter what board. There has been plenty here already and deluded fans everywhere. I could go around every board and paste some crackers.

Most Spurs fans before they reached the top 4 wanted City to do well and help stop the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea's dominance in the top 4.

City will take it to another level next season so good luck to you

I think it's pretty refreshing that Spurs cracked the top 4 and City have now. The big 4 needed shaking up a bit.

The fact that Chelsea had to spend 75m in the January transfer window because of Spurs and City shows that they're worried.

True.

We unfairly target Spuds because they're our rivals for a CL spot.

That'll all change next season as you'll be challenging for the title.

With Spurs they'll be fighting fifth out with Liverpool, and maybe fingers crossed challenging Arsenal for fourth, but I don't think that will happen

The only worry is if Levy wants to make profit and sell the likes of Bale and Modric, or try get into the top 4 again

Spurs needed to spend last season, City were always going to bring more quality players in.

I don't think Bale will go, not so sure about Modric though. Hopefully Arsenal will make the mistakes of the last 6 years and not spend big.

Yep, agree. Our biggest mistake was not getting in a striker in January.

With only getting a few points in 13 games, and not beating all the bottom teams we could have done with a finisher. Maybe we would have made fourth, who knows.

Glancing through redcafe for the past few weeks, they seem to think Modric is a done deal in the region of 20m, which is scandalous if true. Modders is Spurs' best player by a mile, and we bought him for 16.8m. So not sure where these figures are coming from.

As for Arsenal I'm not sure. They do spend when they have to although it's never made such an issue. He splashed 17m on Arshavin when they were struggling to make top 4, and bought Nasri 12m and Vermalen close to 10m too. I think this time Wenger will have to swallow his pride and spend because a lot of his players aren't happy.

What sort of players are City after? I'm a member of a lot of Spurs boards but they don't know if Tevez is staying or going, that will be a big loss but I'm sure Mancini has a trick up his sleeve

Maybe not. That was the style they perfected in the 1950's and involved fluid movement and players changing position, instead of the standard inflexibility of the time.

Was it not the Hungarian side of the 50's who perfected this?
May have perfected it but Spurs manager Arthur Rowe invented it in the late 1940's/early 1950's.

Of course some of the idiots on here think they're referring to the way they play now.

perhaps it was a delayed reaction?

What we're after and what we need are 2 different things.

We definitely need a quality LB, another creative midfielder (Modric/Fabregas-like) as cover/competition for David Silva and another box to box type midfielder (Gerrard/Lampard-like), a rapid hard working forward (Aguero/E'to-like) to replace Jo (not that Jo's rapid), possibly another forward but that depends on Senor Tevez. We also need a couple of rapid wingers (Alexis Sanchez/Ashley Young etc) and another keeper to replace Given.

If we can achieve the above and move on the likes of:

SWP
Given
Adebayor
Bellamy
Caceido
Guidetti
Weiss
Logan
Vidal
Jo
Roque Santa Cruz
Bridge
Onouha

I (and i reckon most fans) would be more than happy to run with those additions and exits for the season ahead! 8 forwards, 4 defenders and a goalie for sale!!! Lol

According to the press, what we're after is Gary Cahill from Bolton, who's decent player, but we've got better in reserve IMHO.

I'm not a big fan of Cahill and think we probably have better in reserves too (Caulker looks a good prospect)

The deadwood you listed seems spot on, I don't think they have any future at City. The only player I'd be interested in would be Adebayor and Given, but not sure City would sell to Spurs

I think with Spurs we should sell Gomes (fed up of his mistakes, used to be a huge fan) , Hutton, Woodgate (great player but injury galore) , Jenas, O'hara, Bentley, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Keane, Crouch. I'd love to keep Kranc and Dos Santos but their days could be numbered.

I wouldn't be opposed to RVN/Owen for a year as well as buying two top quality strikers to go along with them.

Keeping Modric, Bale, VDV, Lennon, BAE, Dawson is very important, but Levy is all about making profit and bending over for United

I don't think Young would be good enough for City, but maybe I'm wrong. I like how you listed Augero as he's a very good striker.

Good luck on keeping Tevez and wish us luck not selling Modric to United :D lol

Isn't he the weak link in your team ?

Only according to Alan Hansen. I don't think I've really seen BAE make mistakes. He's really solid. I'd only swap him for Evra that's how much I rate him, and most fans love him too.

We've had some utter wank at left back down the years , Edinburgh, Tramezanni, Thatcher, Tarrico, Atouba, Edman etc. Some of them were well liked, tolerated or just loved for effort shown. Only Ziege and BAE in the last 20 years have been decent. Sounds like you have a left back issue too, be interesting to see who you get in.

How do you rate Kolarov? I haven't seen much of him only apart from scorching shots. It sounds like Dribble may not be a fan so I assume he's not won the crowd over yet!

tbh, harry relies to much on the old and the long term injured, regardless of how good he could be if fully fit, how often do you have woodgate, or king.
