Spurs Thread 2012

Come on boys. Don't drop your heads now.

A lot of bravery and heart being shown here. Shamrock players throwing themselves in front of the ball. Working their socks off, they know how special this is for them.

Pay compared to Spurs is pennies.
The cost of the team.

..Carlos Tevez pay attention.

To be honest for the Rovers players this is a platform for them to get a move to England be it Championship team or SPL team. A lot of that Rovers team will not be with Rovers next season. There all in the shop window and to put in a decent show against Spurs is what most of the Rovers players and fans could hope for.

Good game from Tottenham's second string & kids tonight.

The goals were bound to come sooner or later, although three in five minutes was a bit harsh on a Shamrock Rovers side who played with plenty of pluck and not a little skill.

Great to see all three strikers bag themselves goals, especially Giovani Dos Santos who's been looking very good this season.

Now on to the 240th North London Derby on Sunday!

Celebrating like they are beating Barca..cnuts

We are bastards aren't we. If I remember correctly when you beat FC Timisoara 2 - 0 at home you didn't celebrate the goals, just politely shook hands with one and other after both the goals, such grace.

Plenty of empty seats at WHL tonight even with 6k Shamrock fans. Good atmosphere though.

There were 4,000 Shamrock Rovers fans there.

Crowd was 33,500.

That's perfectly respectable for a Europa League game against part timers - especially since it was always going to be a Spurs reserve team on show and Redknapp has been keen to stress over and over that he's treating the competition as a low priority. No real incentive for the fans to take it seriously either.

But prices were still £25-30 a ticket.

Can't think of many clubs who would have drawn a better crowd in the circumstances.
