This isn't about a week or three.

You, me, everyone.........we need to come to terms with the fact that this could be about a year or three. Seriously.

Sorry, it should read, the game's been suspended for several weeks to date.

I fully understand it could be some considerable time before we can look forward to some level of normality returning..

Who knows, if we are still in a similar situation 12 months down the line, furloughing non playing staff may become a necessity for Premier League clubs, if the scheme is still available then ..

The issue here though for me is the speed at which Spuds claimed monies from the Government to pay their staff, not illegal for sure but morally not the best decision, especially as the vast majority of PL, Championship and L1 & L2 clubs were managing their fanancies accordingly..

That's what has stuck in peoples craw..!

Read both versions and I've got to say I prefer "Bill the Blue"'s version to be honest; not as long winded and it didn't have the stench of "pleading for sympathy" running throughout it. Just my opinion, so please don't get all depressed and think (realise) that you've just wasted god knows how many hours of your life writing it.

Bless you, mate, but please be assured that your opinion isn't of such great consequence to me!

Bill, this is for you, especially. ;-)

Finally been posted. It's a long read so I've provided a link rather than take up space on here.

I hope that it's okay for me to link to a Spurs website?

Fair play to you, clearly a lot of time and effort has been put in to try make Daniel Levy look better.

You said yourself nobody knew where this was going or how long it would last but he still jumped in as soon as Ashley opened the door. This is the penny pinching that has him in a situation where he can't approach his players for a reduction because he made them fight like lions to get that in the first place.

My main take from it is the people he needs most won't help him when he needs them most. I don't doubt for a second if City, Utd or Liverpool and probably every other club in the league bar Newcastle needed their players to take a cut they would do it. Not spurs though, his players give him a fuck you.

Superb article that Jim. Well worth reading and I think the final point is right, social media is full of people who are "certain" about everything when "certainty", more often than not, is derived from the security of ignorance.

Levy certainly didn't play this one well.

But as I said in the article, the point wasn't to portray Levy as infallible. The point was to stand apart from the braying mob and to try to get them to see that there are far more serious and complex issues at play here than they have allowed for.
