Spurs thread 2020/21

Anyone else think Loris is a little er, 'suspect'.
Lloris has always been like that.

When he has a good game, he looks absolutely world class. Bar the howler at the World Cup final, he was tremendous.

But when Lloris makes a mistake, you can count on him to look like shite for the rest of the game.

Spurs are not a good team. They've got some decent players, sure: but decent players do not always equate to a good team. And this is where I think Maureen's biggest weakness comes into being - he has no man-management skills whatsoever. When you see him put his arms around a player it doesn't seem natural somehow, like he's going through the motions, doing something that as the manager he feels he's supposed to be doing.
Footballers are human beings, they occasionally need a bit of reassurance and approval, they want to know that they are appreciated for what they are doing. But most of the time you get the impression that Maureen is building a wall between himself and the rest of the world: an impregnable surrounding that no mere human will ever be able to breach. It's almost like he fears friendship. It's important to him to keep people at arms length (although quite why any fucker would want to be within arms length of that toxic prick I'll never know).

He'll go to another club after he's dismantled Spurs and history will once more repeat itself. He'll start with a settled team and a decent squad, initially the players will respond positively to him, results will improve and the chairman will beam proudly in front of the media as if to say: "Ha! You all said he could never be changed. You all said we'd fucked up in appointing him." Then slowly the first signs of internal disarray surface with all the inevitability of a thieving spree in Toxteth: Maureen openly criticises his players in TV interviews, he becomes disruptive and surly, the football becomes stagnant and uninspiring, and everyone is back where they started again. He rides off into the sunset with a brain-meltingly handsome payoff, leaving behind him a club in fragments: a team shorn of creativity and a changing room full of former colleagues eyeing one another suspiciously and asking themselves where the fuck do we go from here?

Spurs took a huge step back in their progress by appointing Maureen, and they are now seeing the consequences.
I agree, it's the worse football spurs will have seen for years BUT he is one game away from a trophy which is what they crave. If Levi is brave he would get rid of Jose at the end of this season and appoint Potter or Hassenhutel

1.77 Billion in debt.

Not holding my breath they'll get a FFPR charge mind...

Wow didn’t know it was that much?! It will take them a generation at least to pay that of but as long as you keep paying the banks they’ll be fine.

Levy will be hoping an NFL owner buys it. Another yank in the PL is all we need. On the plus side Spurs will become everything their fans hate...

Arsenal.

In a I created a club with an amazing stadium with fuck all kind of way?

Wonder if he fitted a quick exit for when fans are back and they spent nowt for years while selling all there best players to service the debt ;)
