For me Nasri is just another tale of wasted talent. Had everything in his locker to be one of the worlds best players but his attitude and work rate stink. When he is on his game he is amazing but sadly those games are few and far between. Maybe Pep will shock us all and he will get him playing his best.

Last chance saloon for Nasri, here's to hoping this is it and he steps up. He's good enough if he wants to be.

He's not wrong with that last post though.

no he isn't.

Since that fabled beginning of October, Silva created 54 chances in 20 games, with 7 assists in that period. Last season he created 11 assists, which equaled his assists total for the previous 2 seasons combined. He created more chances last season than he did in the 2013/14 title win. In our bad run from the beginning on Feb losing to Leicester to losing the derby in March, during which we won 1 game v Villa, he created 24 chances, 4 per game. He still made defensive contributions, still put tackles in, kept the ball as well as usual, his main weakness was his lack of goals and his lack of shots from within the penalty area. The reason for that I don't know, perhaps it was a change of role with the introduction of KDB and Sterling, maybe he was down a few percent in performance so that weakness become more apparent.

What is apparent is that he contributed as well as usual if not better in assists, chances created, getting stuck in, keeping the ball etc. So for people to call him 3rd rate last season, and an embarrassment, they are complete imbeciles and total numpties.

He was injured, he played through it as long as he could and still put dozens of chances on a plate for his team mates, particularly in our hours of need in big games we lost.

It wasn't his most effective season, he wasn't at his best, but he still contributed well and he still tried harder than Nasri ever has.

As much as I want nasri to do well, have to agree with this. Silva struggled last season yet still looked our most likely player for a long time. He was hit and miss in Spain's Euro campaign but it would really be brilliant if pep could unlock his best form again.

I think he will. People have way over reacted to Silva dipping as he played through injury- especially as he was still contributing.

Silva has always fitted in with a Spanish team influenced very heavily by Pep's Barcelona.
