What you have in brackets is the important bit. The guy just seems incapable of remaining focused for any meaningful length of time. He also seems to lack stamina or else is just too lazy to put in the hard yards which can make all the difference. Add into the mix a tendency to either pull out of tackles or make needless rash ones and it all adds up to a player who sadly is never likely to reach the levels which a superb skill set merits.
 
I like him as a player, but we've got Silva and De Bruyne who play the same sort of role, and do it much more consistently. I wouldn't object to him leaving.
 
I think he's a Pep style player but wouldn't be surprised if he left.
He has a desire to succeed and to win, but his desire to put in a shift doesn't always coincide with this.
He certainly has his ups and downs but I'd be overjoyed if Pep could get him showing his potential on a regular basis.
