I believe Modric's push startled him. Also there is a slow motion angle that showed his planted foot (not the "stamp" one) was actually sliding.

He really was off balance.

Have the FA ever considered hearing the opinions of the players directly involved, before they make their decisions? It's like being ruled over by the Stasi - judge, jury and executioner. No court in any civilised land passes a verdict without hearing from the parties involved. No City bias here - just a desire for the FA to drag their arses into these modern times, and to deal out fair decisions once every angle (including the views of the players involved) has been covered.

Ive got a sneaky feeling this may help Mario's cause. If they've not banned Crouch for that then they're setting themselves up if they do decide to ban Balotelli and City really should come out with a strong statement that clearly states they are a set of C**T's.

Further to Crouch incident... Some reporter on Talksport has just said Crouch has got off with it thus-wise: "Anthony Taylor was the referee, and has apparently said he missed it real time but has informed the FA he would not have shown a red card if he had seen it."
