Stadium Expansion

No chance we could fill a 60,000 stadium even against United.

Agree, forgot to add "on current prices". No way we would fill it if it continued to be £35, £40.

People are willing to pay the prices for certain games. Look at the seat planner for our glamour friendly against Real Madrid after failing to sell out our previous two CL games! Despite the Real game being more expensive and mostly us playing for pride:

Got to admit that this really is the last stage of the revolution that began 50 months ago. Can't wait to be honest I trust everything they have done for us
There's still the development of the land around the stadium to come yet.

This is an ambitious club. I would imagine one of the key responsibilities of soriano is to increase supporter numbers and revenue. There will be a big push on corporate numbers of course, but also on ordinary fans.

I wouldn't get too fixated on cheap tickets though: I'm not sure we will get that.

What city could do is use this expansion to help the atmosphere: make the new top tier on the south stand a 'popular end' and offer cheaper tickets there. Encourage vocal fans to that section. Being at the top of the stadium it will generate a good noise and songs will spread from there well.

You are talking an extra 13,000 seats though, that is a hell of a jump. We couldn't sell out for our first ever Champions League game.

the 4 level 2 sections in CB and east,75 quid a seat was mentioned.that was during the swanky bars talk.
Could be more if they start going on about pre match meals.
I assume you mean our squishy seat sections, (the best seats in the land in all the world) ... Oh fook :-(

Don't forget that we'd sell a greater number of season tickets though. 36,000 season tickets sold out in a blink this year, if we could theoretically sell 45,000 season tickets then we're already guaranteed current capacity before general sale/Blue members/away fans buy tickets.

Yes, I don't think we'll ever see cheap League tickets but it should surely mean that we'll be able to offer a range of ticket prices. For Spurs there were a handful of seats at £43 but the vast majority were £51 and that's too much.

I also wonder what impact the metro link will have as it makes it far easier for supporters to get to the ground than the current public transport service does. Also with the link to the airport and the like it will be far easier for the dreaded football tourist to see us. Yep, I think 60,000 is the lower end of the expansion.

Hamburg.

I appreciate tickets won't ever be that cheap, but price them right and we will fill the stadium.

If any proof is needed look at the Bundesliga. Even your average teams are pulling 50-60k at home.

I'm sure City have done the maths. They also know our support isn't the wealthiest. There's absolutely no point in adding 10k seats if you don't fill them.
I'm sure City have looked at this and come up with a new pricing formula.(I'm gueesing TBH)

This! Maybe the Blue Alliance/Citizens could get in touch? Even a block would help to start off with?
