Just been to see this. Thought it was poor. Still a film franchise for kids.

What's next? "The Empire's New Clothes"?
As much as I wanted to like it, I have to agree. Some posters on here were talking it up way beyond how it turned out - especially the Vader killing scene (which is just him walking down a corridor using his lightsaber and the force to do people in for a minute or two). Apart from a few ships/storm troopers and Vader at the end, it could've been any old sci fi film that has been done to death. The cgi was lacking as well Peter Cushing looked suss as fuck. And casting Donnie Yen to play a blind IP Man whose 'I am one with the force' bollocks just didn't work for me. Slow and protracted until the brief Vader scene towards the end. Also I could get attached to a load of doomed from the beginning characters. Stupid big droid thingy who sounded like C3PO, speaking of which - what was the R2D2/C3PO scene all about? Other than a silly plant for the Star Wars fans. If it wasn't a Star Wars film, nobody would even be talking about it.

Clearly not a fan then .....

Have a guess why R2D2 is relevant?? A true starwars fan would not need ask.. The force is weak in this one, there is no hope (:
