Star Wars: Rogue One

A quick question to all you Star Wars devotees; how many more films are they (is it still George Lucas who's the main man?) planning to make? This is the eighth one now. To me, it feels like they're milking it for all it's worth. Now, I'm not a fan, as you've probably guessed, but I don't hate them either. The original three that were released back in the midst of time were excellent films. The subsequent five, though, are a bit ho hum for me. I'm not WUMming you lot, it's a genuine question.

Well considering how much Disney paid for the rights, I'd say we're going to get Star Warsed to fucking death over the next century or so.

after the original trilogy, then the prequel trilogy, there will be a sequel trilogy of which The Force Awakens was the first (Episode VII).

On top of that there are 3 stand alone films the first of which is Rogue one. There will also be a stand alone Hans Solo film and a Boba Fett film.

So another 4 at least :))

George Lucas has fuck all to do with it now but he saw Rogue One and apparently gave it a big thumbs up.

Disney are going to hammer it, and probably end up devaluing the name.

Having only had 4 hours kip after I watched it at the midnight showing i'm coming around a bit now and remembering a lot of the little details and easter eggs which were really well done. The way the end of it stitches into A New Hope really is great.

One thing I'll throw out there to those who have seen it is

Who is the robed guy who kneels in front of Vader while he's in the Bacta Tank? I thought it might be Snoke from The Force Awakens but on the internet that got shot down I think by someone working on the film.[\SPOILER]

Where has this term 'easter eggs',in regards film, come from? It seems to be a recent thing that is being used more and more, cheers.

It's just a hidden message/joke referencing previous films/stories in the same universe that usually only the proper fans will get the meaning of.
Its just called that because it is like an easter egg hunt spotting them.
