If they ate relying on filmgoers to read the comics, watch tv series etc then Disney are fucking idiots the majority of film goers don’t and I’m an avid fan of star wars and I don’t read the comics etc. It’s a bit like C3PO red arm in TFA that never explained but it is in the comics. In regard Snoke if you were seeing Star Wars from for the first time from TFA onwards it wouldn’t matter a bit like Palpatine in the OT, however the majority watching it have seen the other films so it’s a massive plot hole, where was he when the emperor was around? How did he come to rule the first order? I do believe JJ had a vision for the trilogy but Rian has fucked it off.
I’ll be going to see it again next week with my cousins 6 year old and my 5 year old daughter no doubt they will live it especially the Porgs lol.
I’ve no issue with Mary Poppins as those force powers are in the books, personally Leia or Ackbar should have done the lightspeed kamikaze run as a fitting ending, but they decide to leave Leia in for almost sentimental reasons, JJ is going to have to do some serious writing to solve that problem.
Luke will return as a Force ghost and I wouldn’t put it past them to put Qui GonnJin ghost as well to tie it all in.

Thinking about it, the real problem with the Snoke thing was a poorly written build-up. I'm fine with what you suggest, and just after he'd been belittled and cast aside, but it didn't quite seem to have the trigger written.

Some explanation of where Snoke came from so fast would have been nice.

Get what you mean but RJ has done an interview with EW magazine in the US. It is basically confirming that Snokes story will be told, RJ goes on to say that there was no point in telling it in TLJ because Snoke would have just blurted it all out and Rey would have just gone “who” so it was irrelevant.

Not having that, TPM was pretty much unwatchable, had I been the age I am now and watched that film in the cinema I would have walked out.....

I put the last Jedi in the same bracket as Return of the Jedi, some parts are annoying, and/or pointless, but I feel I could watch that film again in a few years time.... where as the prequels have no revisiting purpose, as they were that bad!

TPM served no purpose and shouldn't have made it off the cutting table, agreed. ROTS was a great film though and showed for me that the prequel trilogy should have covered more of Anakin's fall and his actions following with less of the childhood blocks and the lovey shit in AOTC. I think people judge ROTS too harshly because of the two before, it's a great film in it's own right but should have been the second and third films really.

Fair enough. RJ almost seems to have gone off-piste; difficult to see why Ren or a Force ghost would explain about a dead Snoke, which look like the only ways to introduce it.

More flash backs to expand on Kylo's character? They'll have a lot more room to expand on Rey and Kylo with Han, Leia and Luke all gone, which was the purpose I think of killing off Luke.

Luke will be back to redeem Ren, I reckon.

I don't think they planned for Leia to go, or they'd have killed her on-screen, but yes, Rey and Ren glaring at each other like teenagers (well, they are, I guess..), Finn/Rose running around doing stuff involving blowing stuff up, with the apparent Superdroid that BB8 has morphed into.

Not a major part, no, but I expect Ren to die or be redeemed and Luke's ghost to be the witness of it.
