Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi

Leia was supposed to have a major part in 9 so they are obviously going to have to rewrite a lot, therefore they will probably use Hamill to fill in bits, no idea where they are going to go with this unless they finish on a cliffhanger with Rey stood on the bridge of a ship having killed Ren as the Yuuzhan Vong invade now that’s would be fucking epic.

Fair enough. RJ almost seems to have gone off-piste; difficult to see why Ren or a Force ghost would explain about a dead Snoke, which look like the only ways to introduce it.

There are alot of theories, however news is coming out daily regarding the hand ring Snoke was wearing and the probability that he could be Darth Plagueis (palpatines master), he is of the muun race that fits the description and if you have read his book which I am doing at the moment he fits all the criteria (description, the opulence of the character) he is the sith that found a way to manipulate the midi-chlorians and sustain life.

The news of hand ring and also the statues that were present in palpatines chambers in ROTS is another link, plus palpatine quotes Plagueis to Anakin.

Also the machine used by Snoke to show Rey the rebel fleet being attacked (astral projection machine), un-noticeable at first but the symbol of that machine is present above the throne Snoke sits on. Another theory is that Snoke’s body was just a vessel for Plagueis.

According to news his story will be told - have a google and you will see the news articles

Yeah Plagueis is the most likely explanation, either that or they'll have to do some serious backtracking to the time of ESB.

I'm not that bothered! RJ mentioning it and then backtracking does strengthen the idea though.
I thought Plagueis was meant to have been killed by Palpatine, unless that was in the now non-canon parts!

I havent finished the book yet (darth plagueis) but in the book so far he is researching midi-clorians to sustain his own life. I have just watch ROTS with my son as he likes that film, and have realised that Palpatine does have the sith statues in his office but also has a relic board in stone dipicting what looks like a battle with a female holding a lightsaber - according to leaks and news coming out we are led to believe that these are sith relics that Palpatine surrounded himself with, butwhich is also what Plagueis does as dipicted in the book.

What is also interesting in ROTS is when Palpatine tells the story of Plagueis and says to Anakin that he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep - which as we know was Palpatine.

However when Sidious kills Mace Windu with Anakin, he then informs Anakin afterwards that ‘to cheat death is a power only one has achieved’ - which means that Plagueis had achieved the power to cheat death but obviously did not pass this knowledge onto Palpatine

Wow! I haven't seen Sith in years, partly because Christensen's utter inability to act is only rivalled by Boyega (who is at least not the lead player!)
Interesting though, and does add to RJ dropping a bollock. So are you expecting Snoke to return?

I hope so as it looks like it is tying in place that it is either Plagueis or another being that wields the dark side but has managed to prolong life. What you need to be aware of is that there is alot of mis-direction in the movie TLJ....one big question to ask is why would Snoke belittle Kylo, and basically state that he has no faith in him only to let himself be killed so easily. The interesting words Snoke uses before he is killed by Kylo is that he states to Rey that he can never be betrayed....

I thought Snoke was deliberately provocative to Ren. Seems reasonable that it's to make him react.

He’s not wrong. Disney will have its missteps if they plan to release 10 films in 10 years but could never come close to cocking it up the way that was done in the prequels. Even Mary Poppins Leia, unnecessary Monaco casino side trek, purple-haired Laura Dern, and out of character Luke are far preferable to the headache-inducing CGI battles, Jar-Jar, Hayden Christensen, senate votes, and midichloreans FFS.

IMO the best films will be the one-off stories like “Rogue One” that aren’t burdened with having to maintain so much continuity at both ends and can just tell a story.
