Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

If we can't reach agreement, make it clear that if it goes beyond a certain time, it will be seen as his desire is not to remain at the club. IMO we should look to sell him before he reaches his final year?
We can't sell a player against his wishes. Sterling has already proved he can stand up to a club.
This is a stratagy of fans that doesn't work Sterling could just tough it out.
I am not saying this will happen but it is far more likely than the club forcing him out.

Actually he has not proved that this strategy has failed, but it is not a road we would want to go down just an option, I personally believe the lad wants more respect in the monitory sense but also starting assurances, Marhez signing will be a jolt for him especially after the bonding that winning the EPL does for a player, they can all see that CL trophy and want to be in the team that lifts it, IMMORTALITY, is what i think the lad is after?

A compromise will be reached.

Sterling thinks he is worth a bit more but probably realises this is the best place for him to realise potential and say a big fuck you to his critics (ala celebration at Arsenal)

This could be a mixed blessing. If we were to sell him at a big price it may leave the way clear for one of the younger players to come through. I would prefer him to stay but if he is stalling now is the right time to say goodbye.

In this market, I'd personally be happy with £75-80m. I'm going to get a lot of stick for this opinion but I'm still not convinced w/ his finishing and dribbling - regardless of the 'stats'.

If a deal goes through, the money can be used for the replacements for the eventual Kompany/Aguero/ Silva retirements.

Doesn't sound like the talks are moving that well, based on his agent (probably) planting the story about Real Madrid.

That's a classic tactic for getting us to meet their demands.

The only way we sell to Real Madrid is if they offer us mega money as we would have to buy a home grown replacement really. Anything over 80m and I would sell him personally, I think he wants out of England rather than City.

Madrid fans attacked Bale and his car and boo him at every opportunity. Sterling will be lucky to make it alive out of there because of his habit of missing easy chances.
