And also very worrying, as it suggests Sterling and City are still far apart at this stage if Ward is still sinking to such an obvious brief.

Madrid wanted Hazard, so it's not beyond the realms they might be keen if that drags on.

Help me out here because I'm struggling to understand why Ward would brief Sky. Would the club not be able to establish that there is no genuine interest and as such the brief is futile?

I want him to stay, but don’t believe he deserves to earn the same as KDB and Silva if the reports are true. He isn’t irreplaceable, and i would personally be more disappointed if we lost Sané. But hope we keep both.

No it is. If it’s money, he could choose Chelsea. Arsenal look to be releasing the cash. Obviously those clubs needs to be interested but a move to Real Madrid, for him, is the worse thing he could do. IMO.
