Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

I like how in your last post you agreed with me! Thanks...finally!

Is that all the baby wanted, somebody to say he wasn't the most technical in the squad, well neither is KDB or Aguero or a lot of other players, still doesn't make him not worth paying the going rate for a top footballer.

Don't get me wrong 100k + is a disgrace of a wage but nothing I can do about that.

You wasting your breath, if he didn't read the stats on the other page there is no point talking to him, "he scores all his goals from inside 6 yards and occasionally from a little further out", that is all you need to know about the person you are dealing with.

Now let me watch this tap in again.

You know what i want to say ;)

Yes, I think we should pay Sterling a better deal maybe not all the way up to KDB level but not far off.

All that and you now agree with me? Well done!

Go and find a 20+ goal a season winger that also had double digit assists and try and get some change back from 100m and the 350k a week they will be also asking for.

This is where we start to diverge. If this season he scores another 20 goals and gets double digit assists, then you can say “.....a season,” but until he shows it’s not a one off...which it is so far!...there is no way he is a top tier, Sergio/KDB, earner.

So technically he isn't the best in this squad but he untecnically put the ball in the back of the net at crucial moments last season and delivered when it mattered.

FINALLY!

Now if you don't agree with this I don't want to talk to you again.

When you agree with so much of what I have been saying, how could I not welcome your input?!

Karen,

My words, as is often the case (and it wouldn’t be an internat forum if it didn’t happen) get twisted, changed, or imply things they never implied.

I want to keep Sterling, because I think that Pep can make him so much better than he already is. I also think that he had a very good season last time around, no argument there. My ONLY beef was originally with the people who espouse “give him what he wants” when the general sentiment was that he wants to be on the top of the pay scale with Sergio and KDB. I disagree with that, and have given my reasons why I feel it is undeserved AT THIS POINT. if he is still here at the end of this next contract, and doing the business, then he will be 28, at the peak of his career and considerably more entitled to believe he deserves a top tier contract. No problem.

I think the vast majority agree he shouldn't be on parity with our top earners, that position can be stated without the accompanied scathing criticism of his game.

Hahahaha!

You cherry picked his best goal of the season and want to give him a £15M/year contract?! Glad you don’t run my business!!

What’ll you pay for this....

Same season...

Waste of time.

Unless you are, of course, told you have to justify why he doesn’t deserve it, which I’ve done.
