My words, as is often the case (and it wouldn’t be an internat forum if it didn’t happen) get twisted, changed, or imply things they never implied.
I want to keep Sterling, because I think that Pep can make him so much better than he already is. I also think that he had a very good season last time around, no argument there. My ONLY beef was originally with the people who espouse “give him what he wants” when the general sentiment was that he wants to be on the top of the pay scale with Sergio and KDB. I disagree with that, and have given my reasons why I feel it is undeserved AT THIS POINT. if he is still here at the end of this next contract, and doing the business, then he will be 28, at the peak of his career and considerably more entitled to believe he deserves a top tier contract. No problem.
