Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Easy said:
If true and KDB is on £350k per week with bonuses, I feel its fair what he’s asking.

He’s matured a lot and is beginning to really take responsibility, I.e in all or nothing admitting the Burnley miss cost points and was so upset about it.

This season he is proving he’s still extremely effective from the left, almost everyone here said he was useless there.

I think it’s still a little early but he if continues this form until January pay him the £275k pw.

As for those saying others will ask for more. Jesus just signed a new deal, Sane is still inconsistent and when he has an off game it’s like playing with 10 men. Bernardo while playing very well hasn’t really done anything to prove he should be amongst the best paid at the club.

Sterling is consistent, can miss a sitter and still continue to drive at defenses. The only thing he needs to improve on is 1v1 with the keeper. I’m sure he’s been working on it.

If KDB is on 350k per week and they agree to pay Sterling 275k (both of which I am highly dubious about) it means Sterling’s value to the Club is about 80% that of KDB. This makes absolutely no sense. KDB is probably worth in excess of 200m in this market. Sterling is probably in the 50/60m range. KDB is the engine of the team and is there isnt another player like him in the squad. Sterling is a good player but is hardly irreplaceable. We have Sane, Mahrez and Bernie who can all do a similar job.

As I said in a previous post on this topic, I like Sterling but I really believe him or his agent have a highly inflated view of his worth and I can’t imagine the Club will agree to this.

is it sterling or his agent. normally its their agents trying to stir shit up, personally cant see sterling getting a better offer and playing time, maybe better money but end up on the bench somewhere

50/60 m are you having a laugh? you may not value him highly but in the market he is 100 plus

Really, who do you think would pay 100m for him . And even if you’re right that still make him worth 50% the value of KDB. My logic still holds up. You simply can’t put Sterling in the same category as KDB Sergio and Merlin.

They are all older so he shouldn't be compared to them in any way but it's a mute point,we don't sell our best players and he seems perfectly happy here,he is due a new deal as they all do when they only have a couple of years left and he deserves it
