I wonder if FFP2 if introduced will have an effect on this, I certainly know I’d be raising it as a possibility with Txiki if I was Sterling’s agent.
If you can only spend 90 million net, than getting Sterling on a free would be an absolute steel and replacing him could really scupper our transfer plans.
It will also have the effect of bringing down transfer fees, which will in turn increase wages.
They will be increased pressure from buying clubs to get prospective players to push for moves, transfer requests etc. So wages will need to be high to create this behaviour.
So I certainly see wages going up across the board. In the same way 89 million for Pogba was far too much at the time, it is probably now market value for him now with all the inflation. I think wages will do the same ( the rich will still want to flex their financial muscles).
He’s 23 and he’s ace!! We’re always more dangerous with him in the team. He never hides and his off ball running is world class.
I see last season being the norm and a 20 goal a season winger who can play left or right is a fantastic player.
