Oakie that's a daft argument. We have a transfer budget. If we overspend on one player it means the money cannot be spent elsewhere.

The argument that's its not our personal money is a strange one.
If we have a budget, then why would we "overspend" on one player?

Any fee would obviously fit within any budget or it wouldn't happen.

Because its about personal opinion as to what a player is worth and where you would rather spend that money. People don't have to agree with City every time.

Either way the argument that it isn't the poster's money is irrelevant.
Not as daft as your one which is my point.

This transfer wouldn't happen if it didn't fit in line with any set budget.

I'm not arguing personal valuations.

Well we can't 'overspend' for one player vs another can we ? If the club valued someone else as more important, then they wouldn't 'overspend' on Jovetic would they ?

If they sign him, they are paying what they think his value & importance is to us, not 'overspending'.

Yeah you've just repeated your original point for some reason.

The poster is saying the amount we are paying is too much. He is entitled to that opinion because he's not saying he doesn't want Jovetic just that he doesn't want him at that price .

For example he could think we could get an equal or better player for the money but if we spent it on Jovetic then that money is gone. You might not be speaking about personal valuations but he was and again the fact that the poster isn't paying is irrelevant.

Not sure how else I can put it.

Not going to get in an argument over budgets but the only real people who know what we have to spend and how much a player is valued at and what his wages will be are the Spanish duo and accountants at City I am prepared to trust them with our transfer funds and if they can afford it why should I worry whether that is over the value I place on the player or not. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on value but I really do trust the club on this, that is my opinion for what it is worth.

I never thought that first full stop would ever come. :)

But that's on the premise that we have to agree with every move city makes in the transfer market. The poster disagrees and thinks we are using too much of our budget on Jovetic. Nothing wrong with that.

If our budget is £80 million this window and we spent all of that on Jovetic I would expect a lot of posters would argue that money could have been better spent. If posters agree with every move because we trust City there wouldn't be much debate.
