Stevan Jovetic

I'm consistently amused by people that act as if anyone in Serie A is somehow inherently deficient. I reckon that's why De Jong has destroyed that league and made it his own considering how highly rated he is on here.

I don't see anything in this lad, not good enough.

In fact, with the exceptions of Vidal, Montolivo, Marchisio and Cavani (and yes, I may have missed a couple more) would not touch a single other player in Serie A.

And that's from a person who loved to watch the Italian teams of the 80s and early 1990s.

Completely Disagree... I don't post here, only read snippets from you and few others ... But Sorry friend you have got the wrong impression about Jovetic.
He is already good enough to play for us and a future star.. his progress halted because of cruciate ligament injury and he missed whole 10/11 season.. last season too he had few short spells of injury , this is his only weakness being injury prone , but it's not a case Like Rodwell ( I am big Rodwell fan and am praying for him to stay fit )

Jovetic is like a joker in the pack, like a Squad player He can play ST , Cf , and any position behind the striker... He is comfortable with both feets (Which we lack) ... He is only 23, He has amazing skills to beat his man , amazing vision, quick, great passer, innovative.. Everything that a attacker should have !
Don't go by his stats of less goals and assists he mainly plays behind ST at Viola and then compare his stat with that position you will see it's good !

If we want him then surely Don Manuel and Txiki rate him and we should trust them !
Give him a chance and he will win each and every fans heart !

Considering the fact that his main position is attacking midfielder, I think his stats is quite good.
It`s only this season he's been pushed forward as a main striker from time to time.

As I said I've not seen him play. Looking on the internet he's described as forward, second striker, striker or play maker? If he's been playing in midfield for much of these 5 seasons then his goal return is good and we could do with an attacking midfielder that can get into double figures. If we're buying him as a replacement for Tevez I'm not so sure

Last season Tevez was playing as a deep laying forward pretty much, I'm sure jovetic will fit that role nicely....

True but even in that position Tevez bagged 17 last season- he's averaged 23 per season over his 3 (full) seasons with City and we therefore still need someone to replace him. When Jovetic plays for Fiorentina do they just have him and another striker or does he play behind the strikers? I'm not saying he can't do a job for us but I still think we need a dedicated striker.

Some reports in Italy that not only is his agent going to speak with us over here............... but Chelsea too. :/

Thought we had first dibs on him after our good relationship with them after the Nastachic/Savic transfer last summer.
There's no such thing.

I don't know many players that can cut inside as effortlessly as Jojo.

He'd really help us out big time on the left.

If his goal scoring record 1 in 3 can become 1 in 2 in a better team, we are laughing.

Even if not, he is the kind of player that makes his teammates play.

The only strategy to have changed is that we now have a manager who is able to offer and suggest alternatives to every player overpriced by £20m

Mancini did not have this ability. He saw the best, he didn't care what it cost, and he stamped his feet accordingly.

That maybe would hold true if we hadn't just probably overpaid for our 2 signings so far this window.

I'm sure they are both good players and will serve the squad well but the Sevilla president came out and said he was surprised by how much we paid for Navas and most observers seem to regard the Fernandinho price as more than it should have been.
