I thought Lee sacked him and replaced him with Brian Horton, a nice enough man who was given absolutely fuck all help by City and, ultimately, was letf with zero chance of avoiding his, and the clubs, inevitable fate.
Definitely not. Reid was sacked early in the 93/94 season and Lee didn't take over until early 1994. I remember we played Blackburn at MR and lost badly and there was a big anti-Swales demo after the game. Swales did his usual trick of sacking the manager.

Great minds. :)

Indeed Peter. Must be the schooling.

I'll never forget that particular game as it was the first City game I took my son to. I posted this recently I think. He would have been 6 and thought that chucking rocks at the boardroom window was a traditional post-match activity.

Going back to Brian Horton, many years of ale has messed my memory but wasnt he announced as manager on a friday night game against coventry

It was back then! Anyone remember the protest on the Friday night against Coventry and the footage of that bloke with the mohican haircut and Adidas sweatshirt leading the charge at the main entrance? It wasn't me by the way - just that he seemed to stand out a mile.
