Steve Gerrard

No fucking way, he's past his best, always been overrated compared to the likes of Pirlo who he apparently shit over, he's only in the Bottlepool because he takes a good free kick or corner. No captain marvel would make sure his team drop a 3 goal lead in the last 10 minutes of such a big game.

Not to mention he should be in jail for a vicious attack on a DJ but no court in Bottlepool is going to send the Bottlepool captain down.

A complete and utter fucking ****, I'd stop going if he joined.

You can't argue Gerrard had been one of the best players in the Premier league but it is very noticeable that he is in decline.

You can argue.

Lampard, Scholes, Paddy V, Keane, Yaya, Petit, Carrick, Mendieta Essien, Alonso, Ballack, Gilberto Silva, Makelele, Redknapp, Mcallister, Fabregas, Matic, Modric, Ramsey were all better than him in his position even in his prime.

You could argue Barry, Fernandinho, Fletcher, Batty, Parlour, Edu, Veron(shame he joined the rags when 4-4-2 and box to box midfielders were all the range)

Why not? Filling the Lampard role of 15-30 minutes a game, to steady the ship or push for a winner.

He'd have to be going to a club with CL interests IMHO
He is going to LA Galaxy
I heard it's either the San Diego Slippers, the Boston Bottlers or the Miami Mourners.
Should that not read San Diego Dippers!

Re: Steven Gerrard

You've got to hand him the best assist of the premier league era

Hilarious. Lampard? Right up there, as are Alonso, Scholes, Vieira and Yaya. Ballack possibly. The rest are at least a level below.

Redknapp, ffs.

It must be.

One thing that can't be denied is that during his prime, he made Livepool and they were not the same team without him.

There was a 2 season period where Gerrard and Torres together kept Liverpool in the top 4 Champions League places and both burned themselves out by being played even when not fully fit. I believe neither player ever fully recovered from Beneitez's deperation to have both out on the pitch at all times.

I'm sure it was during Rafa's penultimate season was the last time I saw Gerrard at his swashbuckling best. The following season he seemed to lose that extra burst of pace and energy that he had previously and with the injuries mounting for Torres, Liverpool were found out as a team who beyond their 2 star performers were just above average.

I'd love to see Gerrard play a season or 2 in a team who weren't wholly reliant on him in a similar way to what we've done with Lampard. Again I could think of worse players we could sign for a couple of seasons for NYCFC.

Makelele was a level below nobody.
