Steve Wright DJ RIP

RIP, used to enjoy his show back in the day.

i'm trying to be a responsible person, investing in my pension and saving for retirement and then something like this happens and it makes you wonder if you should just live for today.
I'm sorry, but I can't get the hang of all this 'celebrity' grieving.

Did anybody know Steve Wright personally, or any deceased celebrity come to that?

Sure it's disappointing that he has gone at 69, far too young in this day and age, but it's also disappointing that Jane Jones or Simon Smith who live in the neighbourhood also died at 69.

Celebrities are just people who have been lucky, talented or both, that's all. I'm sure you're important in your job as well. They don't, or shouldn't affect your daily life, there are more important and significant people in your life to be that.

My all means live for today, but you'll be making a huge mistake if you don't live for tomorrow as well........and some person who you've never met, or doesn't know you from Adam shouldn't influence you.

Strange thing to say.
No, nobody knew him personally, but its someone who many may have listened to on a daily basis.

Still a person, and a father. Just scroll on

R.I.P. Steve. Got my first company car in 1984 and spent many happy hours listening to the show. Really funny at times with Sid the manager “meet me at the services boy, if you’re there first chalk your name on the wall. If I’m first I’ll rub it off!” Gervaise the hairdresser doing a spoof of local radio with “radio flower arranging”. Not listened to BBC radio for years and thought his shows were a bit old hat by then but brilliant in my youth. A little older than me, and after a bad year of deaths and illnesses to friends and family this has hit home to me.

Good memories of his TV show on BBC One after Grandstand and all the fantastic stories he would tell.

RIP :(
