All in the trial were we?

I wasn't, but I would be very interested if you or anyone else could explain how being caught throwing punches on CCTV after your mates have waded in, admitting to it, being seen seething on CCTV beforehand and all your mates accepting the charge could be not be considered affray.

Given the widespread reporting of the case, I doubt there is much in the way of secret, unreported evidence involved.

Therefore, the question has to be, if that does not constitute affray, what does?

And why, out of the seven people involved, were Gerrards violent actions, which he admits to, any different than the others?

Probably because the prosecution dropped a clanger by charging him with affray... A lesser charge of assault or similar and he would have been guilty... and would probably pleaded guilty as the evidence was conclusive... But affray was too serious a charge.. was never going to be found guilty of affray

so..I can go out smack someone and say," he was going to hit me I think",mi lud,and I will get away with it?,mmm ok.

Shocking, absoutely shocking!

How the hell did he get away with that?

I'm sure the jury were privvy to more evidence than we have. Judges can gag the press. If rumours are to be believed, Gerrard received enough provocation to make him respond.

Not enough the the bluemoon courtroom I'm afraid! They know the in's and out's of everything, included the law of self defence apparently.

More shocking was the next case Ranger Smith Vs Yogi Bear when the jury found no evidence of the theft of picnic baskets

Course you can hit him providing it's reasonable force, you can't however shoot a man who's running away.

SEE now thats not fair...can I run him over in my car?
