Stevie Ireland - the bidding starts

anyone who wants Ireland gone is a fickle bastard. who I bet was licking Stevies nuts last season after spending the season before wanting him gone.

Ireland is being fucked about on the right.

He is too good not to play in the middle attacking role.

Anyone who wants him gone needs their heads examined.

I would have broken it to them a little easier but I agree. He is one of the best passers in the EPL and he will come back to haunt us if he leaves.

Carrick £18M two seasons ago,

Ireland £25M

I would love him to stay though

Come on, ive got Ireland on the back of my shirt so i love him, but id take carrick every time!

Carrick, not for me, I don't rate him at all and wouldn't swap him for Stevie. I don't know why Stevie is nowhere near the standard he was last year. Even playing out of his position should not change his work rate and that is not there at the moment. If he moves should be at least £15m.

The top clubs dont have any money so we would be lucky to get £12 million for him. The only top 4 club that he might possibly go to is Arsenal but Wenger doesnt splash ridiculous money around. We may get the best price from the likes of Sunderland who have a bit of cash to spend and would see Ireland as a huge improvement on what they currently have!

I am huge Ireland fan and wouldn't want him to go anywhere. However, Arsenal is about the only other team I could see him playing for. His passing skill would allow him to fit effortlessly into their side. They'd never splurge on him though. For those saying he's not top 4 material, they have obviously not seen any of this:

I've only ever heard of him being linked with a switch to Manchester Unite with SAF being a big admirer, so obviously he isn't the one season wonder people are now claiming he is.

No matter how much we hate United, trying to gloss over the fact that they play quick passing football as well as anyone is fucking ridiculous. Ireland would fit in there with ease, especially with Scholes coming to the end of his career. He's exactly the kind of player Fergie is looking for.

I agree with this. Fergie makes average midfielders into complete players. If he goes we will get hurt by it. Like I said earlier, his passing is second to none and he is unbelievably creative. We need to put him back in the center of the pitch and let him run loose.
