stockport county

And there still are plenty of blues with a soft spot for County. If fact I have more than a soft spot, I really like the club and have been down to EP loads of times and made the odd away match, and I know quite a few other blues that do the same.

For almost their entire existence, County had been 2-3 divisions below us, every other week they saw coach loads of people from their town getting on coaches to go and watch City away, and it must have really naffed them off. Then, all of a sudden they were on level playing terms, and even for one season, a level above, and they took the pi55. Now be honest, wouldn't you. I remember that night Hardiker scored the last minute winner at EP, and yes I was cheesed off, but what the hell, we were on our way to winning the 2nd tier by a country mile, whilst County were on their way down to the 3rd with a whimper, probably never to return. They loved it, and for a little while longer were in our faces. A bit of banter that got unfortunately got out of hand.

I've moved on, and now love both clubs. Ok, I'm in a small minority of people that can do that, but I really wish supporters of both side would bury the hatchet. Will it happen? I doubt it very much, but I live in hope. There is only one enemy for me, and let's hope we go one better and put seven past them tomorrow night. :)

agree

Earl Hickey obviously isn't one of their fans. Karma is a woman you Stockport wallering motherfuckers! Hahahahahahahaha!

I was there today cheering County on, but to no avail. The players either had no fire in their bellies or are just technically inept. Only a minor miracle would prevent County from slipping into the BSN and who knows, the club could even fold.

No matter what happened between City and County fans a decade or so a go, surely it can't. be right to want County to cease to exist?

I was stood outside the ground for about an hour before kick off, and I noticed several City fans going in, most with the top if the shirt peaking out or a badge, but noticeable all the same. Now I think it does show a little lack of respect to have City stuff showing, but that is another story. The fact that I noticed a few paying good money to go into the ground, suggests to me that there is a fair number of City fans that do care about County, I just wish there was more. It also makes me think that this City hatred for County and visa versa is mainly confined to the likes of Blue Moon and Yellowboard, as I now know a few County fans that don't mind, or even like City.

Just an observation that can be debated.

Now I'm looking for City to cheer me up by stuffing Chelsea at Wembley. :)

Can Stockport really afford to turn paying supporters away? I myself wouldn't wear the wrong colours but neither, if challenged, would I try and claim to be a fan.

At least if they're in the Conference North then it's no more trips to Cambridge, Dartford or Woking. A kick in the arse for fans based in the South but you can't please everyone.
