stockport county

Anyone read that interview recently with County's chairman? Think it was in the MEN, about being a Greater Manchester football club in the shadow of two big PL clubs. Oldham and Bury came across quite well, even appreciative of City and United. County's man decided to use his interview time to slate off City completely, claiming almost that city fans are the sole reason why county are struggling. It was a real shame for me to read that and see that kind of opinions still alive and well at county/ I used to go a few times a season but not for years, and after reading that I can't say I would change my mind any time soon. There is a deep-running bitterness towards City in particular at that club, being as though we were once on a par for a brief amount of time, and now we are moneybags with top class everything and they are mis-managed over and over again.

He thoroughly seemed to believe that probably 50% of city fans should in fact be going to Edgeley park every home game and not Eastlands, despite the fact that he thinks we are all a bunch of cnuts. Didn't say a bad word about the red half though. Made your bed and all that...

Shame as I know a couple of county fans who still go and they are, well... downtrodden but hardy is how I would put it. Though they both freely admit their home ticket prices are embarrassing, and they both dislike the new chairman quite a bit. I wouldn't be as arrogant as to say they should know their place and be happy with it, everyone is entitled to celebrate their teams biggest days, but the ferocity of it, the siding with the rags to unite against a common sky blue enemy, well... I remember it all and so for county no tears, no cash and no pity from me.
I know a couple of ex Stockport stalwarts and both say the blame for there demise has been mismanagement at board level and the fact that too many have and probably still are taking money out of the club that isnt there..... they also say the wages they paid when they were a league side were shite in comparison based on there gates and this stems from the money going to the wrong people
So for there chairman to spout the shite he has maybe he should look a little closer to home for the demise of Stockport as it is nothing to do with City fans

Ticket prices are i believe set by the League.
This was one of the main reason's i stopped going to watch Stalybridge Celtic £14 to watch non-League football is way to much.

F**k me! £14!!
League of Ireland is a higher standard, at the top level certainly, and top prices would be about €15 (what's that?, a tenner Sterling?).
For £14 they should give the ball to take home.

Ticket prices differ from team to team in the conference north. Bradford Park Avenue charge £11 on match days.

All english football is overpriced, its not just PL. English football fans need to get together and boycott the stupid prices, but we won't unfortunately.
