Stoke away post match thread

that pissed me off so much. we have loads of players we could be using, but he never uses them in cups especially. Nacho, roberts, delph, he doesn't trust anyone other than the same 11

Exactly. It's HIS fault we're using the same players week in week out. Iheanacho sat on a bench, FFS.

Just watched Manuel blame todays defeat on our injuries. He has a point as they don't help but having said that every team has injuries to contend with. Player for player we were superior to Stoke on paper, but in reality we needed to be at least equal or better than the sum of our parts, that is where a manager earns his corn. Can this be said of Manuel today?

Injuries be damned because toure has been as big a liability as anyone this season so far, add to that silva being back.

Ok no VK or Sergio, but lets be fair having signed otamendi(who i do actually rate)and bony(who i certainly dont), and with the mobile delph also back from injury, against stoke...you really should not have to rely on them to avoid an almost 5-0 dry bum scenario. Weird starting lineups seem like classic pellegrini at this point.

Anyone saying that we were simply out-fought by Stoke in the windy conditions is doing them a serious mis-justice.

We were outplayed by them and outclassed by them.

Well played Stoke and well done Mark Hughes. A manager who was able to get more out of his players individually and collectively compared to a manager for whom the players have very little regard.

That's been clear for about 12 months now. At what point does this start being upper management's fault?

We signed good, young attacking players in the summer and Klopp was available. The complacency at the top while they're waiting for the Holy Grail to arrive is shocking. He'd better be worth the wait.

Very poor performance by all today, too many injuries happening, no passion, no urgency, too predictable, too easy to read, simply hit on the counter. MDM, Fernando, oh dear. Champions league winners, don't think so, until we have a good clear out and some clear direction from a manager that sets clear game plans and considers the talents of city individual players and those of the opposition.

i hope at the end of the season we get rid of
Demi
kolorov/clichy one of them
Navas- Mahrez or shaqiri wont be a bad bet
Nasri
Bony
Fernando, keep him as a back up but he is no better than second season javi
Toure
Zabba aint getting younger and we need an upgrade on rb, a much younger one
