Stoke City V Man City - pre match thread

I think we'll win comfortably. They'll struggle without Shawcross and Sergio looked to be regaining his sharpness yesterday.

Our liability of a goalkeeper notwithstanding (like Chelsea away last year he just had to get involved for no good reason yesterday) our problem seems to be a specific one - breaking down packed defences at home. We'll be fine on Wednesday.

Anyone know of any pubs in the Bramhall/Davenport area showing the match? The Jolly Sailor is normally a good bet but I think they'll be showing the Utd match on Wed.

We'll win this.

'Tis just like our beloved to go and put on a show that belies the laborious offerings of the last three home games.

I looked at the betting odds when I got on CBL3 concourse on Saturday. £1300 for 4-1 and Kompers to score first. I thought stranger things have happened. I resisted the temptation, but if there's an option of Stoke 4-1 and Begovic to score first, we will win! But there again, Stoke on a fuckin' freezing February night at The Britannia - no wonder Mancini thought about giving them the points and not bother goin'!

Put your life savings on it that Stoke will play some of their best football of the season and will fight tooth and nail for everything. Added to that, they'll get a couple of gifts from the Officials (expect us to play with 10 men for 60 or 70 minutes). Our lads are more talented but I don't believe they've the interest nor balls to do what it takes to secure the win.
