You clearly don't know where you live then!
The postcode is irrelevant... even the rags have a Manchester postcode!
Middleton is in Rochdale. Check your Community Charge statement... or ask your parents if need be.
Dont need to ask my parents im 27 years old, i live in middleton MANCHESTER. I pay my council tax to manchester council. And if im being as pedantic as you are then, middleton isnt IN rocdale its a just within rochdale borough, there is a border, hence the welcome to middleton, welcome to rochdale signs.
Paul scholes was the only MANC to play in the derby on sat, why does this bother people so much? ffs we really are clutching at straws, first the trafford thing and now this. soon u will have to live on deansgate to be called a manc.

What determines the 'ownership' of a place is who you pay your Council Tax to. In the case of Middleton, the answer is Rochdale MBC, who you will find run the Middleton schools, empty the Middleton dustbins etc.
It's true that Langley Estate is/was owned by Manchester City Council, but that doesn't make it part of the City of Manchester. They own the properties but they don't get the Council tax.
It's simple really, all that's needed is to check the Council Tax demand. The one for Old Trafford goes to Trafford MBC for example. As does ours (and theirs) for the Carrington complexes.
ahh cheers cleared things up a little, still dont understand why its split between two councils? its irrelevent anyway im bored of it now. better go support rochdale eh lol
