Stoke post match

So you think that will be constantly applied in every game this season? No penalties all afternoon since, do you think there has not been equivalent contacts in the box, wise up bad decision end of.
Jesus wept, what's wrong with people on here. It doesn't matter if it's given elsewhere, when has that ever mattered?. They've been told that if they pull shirts it's a penalty, they've also been told that if you don't watch the ball and just simply impede another player it's a penalty. What's not to understand? It was a stonewall penalty. I didn't like it either, and wondered what the fuck was going on. However, once they'd explained that refs had been round every ground and told the teams what was going on, and actually went round and told Sky, and hopefully BT, then I got the picture. The fact that people on here don't get it just maybe a combat indicator that it's not just the players who are thick.

So, wise up.

No objection to penalties being given for pulling etc in the box but its no use if one ref applies it and another doesn't. Had too many years of rags getting away with murder with their defending, because refs were cowards, to now have to watch their defenders rugby tackle people in the box and get away with it whilst the rest of the league conceed penalties. Chelsea have just been denied a penalty for an offence by Watford that was much worse that Sterlings offence.
You see this is the whole point, some refs may apply the rule to the letter, meanwhile to get a pen at the swamp, the attacking player would have to be attacked with a baseball bat, and struck multiple times.

Very happy with the result, was good to go up against a physical Joke City on a wet / windy afternoon and win convincingly.

Loved Natcho's / Nolito's cameo.

Hate to critise City players but Navas dosnt help himself..
I don't think he'd have scored the goals that Nolito did.

Sad reds reckon Stoke were absolutely pathetic. We're Bournemouth not pathetic? Stoke away is very tough and it seems nobody apart from City fans are giving them any credit.

Seems to me that pundits (whether consciously or not) are comparing our performances with Pep's Barca and Bayern. Therefore we aren't getting the praise for some good performances. Whereas PEGs United are being compared with LVGs version and thus getting more plaudits.

Not just the penalties, but near the end of the match today there was a rugby tackle right in front on the right sided lino and right under the refs nose.
Nothing. Not even a flag from the lino.

This is the problem. Consistency by refs being non existant.

That's what Hughes alluded to when he said refs won't stick to it. We all know it will go unpunished at the Swamp, but that's always been the case. Smalling is fucking shocking at pulling shirts.

The crazy thing is the more you read about it, the more logical it becomes. I think there was one point Sterling was breaking and I was furious because I knew he would become isolated and positionally we would not be in the right place defensively or offensively. A year ago I would have been roaring him on.

Interesting Callabero shouting at the defenders, when they split to the edge of the box, that he was going to go long. Not sure what Pep would have made of that.
It's amazing how more structured we look after 3 games and we're attacking and defending as a unit with more fluidity. Yet last year and for the last year under Mancini, one of my gripes was that we looked too structured and this was affecting our ability to shift the ball quickly. Players are interchanging much more now so if for example, Stones goes forward, Dinho immediately covers for him.

Not stalking you btw ;)

Its painful sometimes. The basis for it not being a penalty on here is it wont be consistently given or it wont be given against United. Not sure how many more times it can be explained.

Fucking hell, you're that dense I bet light bends round you.

It.....doesn't.....matter.........if.......it........isn't..........applied.......elsewhere. FFS.

Absolutely no credit given at all by either Souness or Quinn?
Think I remember some mention during the game that Stones fee could buy half of Stokes squad or something similar? ..can't remember exactly but still beating us with the money stick!
Didn't watch it but bet they weren't aiming similar comments at the rags last night?
Great performance by the lads tho today!
Nope, last night was "If you've got it, why not flaunt it"

All that suggests we take Sky at their word.

Is it written down anywhere?

And of course it fucking matters if it's not being implemented elsewhere.

Seriously, I'm sat here swearing in my kitchen. How can people be so fucking thick?

So the back pass rules comes in. It's a new rule. But it's only applied in matches containing Mike Dean and/or Man City, and that isn't a problem.

It's not people being thick, it's you having the empathetic ability of a wank sock.

Fuck me, not you as well. Do you actually, in all seriousness think Sky made it up? Really?

And no, it fucking doesn't matter if it isn't applied anywhere else. Since when has that mattered? I'm guessing you've been on the drink, or you've had your first domestic!
