+1.

we were all scratching our heads.

Tuesday in mind maybe ?

That must be the saving grace

Of course he was subbed with Tuesday in mind. Had Carlos got injured we'd have been in deep shit. Balotelli played all 90 because he is getting nowhere near the team on Tuesday.

Silva didn-t play at all as he is crucial for Tuesday.

Having just seen it again on French tv I've no fucking idea how handball wasn't given against Crouch. He must've handled it 3 times in the space of five seconds. Appalling decision.
Crap officiating in extremis.

We still should play to the whistle though and not just stopped and thrown hands up in the air.

People keep saying this, but they stopped because Crouch had wrong-footed them all by handling it. The defence were completely taken out of the situation by it. There was no feasible way of getting to Crouch after he had guided it past them with his hand twice, so stopping and waiting for the rebound was about all they could do.

It's not like they stopped and then he ran past them. No he got past them and then they held their line and appealed.

That's pretty much how it looked to me too. I think Vinny and Joleon looked a little closer to being back to their best today which in and of itself was very encouraging.

The Stoke stewards, security and police are the most miserable shower I have ever come across, here and abroad.

On my way out of the matches I always thank them as I walk by and at most grounds they say, ok, thank me back or wish me a safe journey.

This shower, even the car park attendants, had the longest faces and most miserable ever. You would have thought it was pouring with rain or freezing cold!! Not even a flicker of a smile apart from one policeman who happened to be standing on his own.

You should of offered them high six, I'm sure they would have obliged..........inbred fuckers!

Don't think Joe will be winning the Golden Gloves for the third year running.

It's still very early doors. But for some piss poor officiating we would've had a clean sheet today. As the defence improves, so will he. I reckon he's still got as good a chance as anyone.

Probably would have took a draw before kick-off,stoke have a good record at home, but after crouch and the handball (another decision going against us)and the two late chances feel we should have had all three points,on to tuesday now and would love nothing better than to turn jose and his band of divers over bigtime....

Stoke style of play is just embarrassing. It's like watching ballerinas vs rugby players. Plus now they're adapting to NBA style ;-)
A lot being said about performance today, I'm just glad this fixture came this early this time, we got point and everyone are safe without injuries before Madrid. Happy for all the debutants, they'll need some time to settle and adapt to the system\teammates, but I'm sure everything will be fine.
