Stoke Vs City Post Match thread

Maybe the first half performance lulled Stoke into thinking we really were that shit and it played right into our hands.

Superb second half performance and at last Aguero is back on the scoresheet and silva looked back to his best.

We still have considerable issues at the back. Had Stoke scored four in the first half we couldn't have complained. hart was sloppy and Zabaleta is a big concern this season. Players are getting past him like he isn't there. I think it's time to give Sagna a run.

Having seen the handball from behind him, it was very clear and the correct decision. A ref is never going to think that it might have been accidental in those situations. It was bizarre from kun but luckily didn't cost us.

Aguero, Milner and Silva were excellent.
I think this was the game we really wanted to win, having never won at Stoke in the Prem - that's why we not only played shit in the first half, but also played shit against Hull, and Arsenal, and Everton, and Sunderland, and Burnley. We almost blew it with a decent performance at Chelsea, but we'd still done enough to lull Stoke into a false sense of security, then BAM!

Shame the strategy probably cost us the title, but we've won that twice in the Prem era, so a win at Stoke is the real prize. (well done our defence in particular for pulling this off - it can't have been easy for world class players to pretend to be so shit for so long)
Yay! We won the Pottery Cup! There can now be no comebacks from any rags.

Silva..... Outstanding!!
I actually thought it was Nasri who was the catalyst. Near the end of the first half he dropped deep to Yaya territory and started controlling the flow of the ball. He was excellent today. Silva perked up once Nasri got the ball rolling.
Nasri was brilliant in the second half but I thought he was non-existent in the first.

Silva pulled the strings from the first minute til he went off

HOLD ON, HOLD ON!!!

I've just read ten pages of this , and not one mention of United, whatever happened to the Obsession????

Come on Lads, sort it out!
You mean Newcastle ?

If we'd have slipped up tonight, it would have been bad. We needed to put the worse run of form in 4 years behind us and we have done

What people are failing to understand is this - we are totally reliant on Chelsea dropping lots of points. Their winner today was devastating, because even if we win every game they still have to lose 3 games. Where are they going to drop points? I just can't see it.

Assuming we only drop 5 more til the end of the season, that means they will have to drop 12 points. There is fucking no chance of that happening as they are not gung-ho like Liverpool were last season. They are cautious and will grind out points.

I HATE having to rely on wankers like Everton to pull out a result and then they fuck it up in the last minute. At least when it's City you know we've got the quality to win.

I have been critical of Nasri in the past but he was brilliant today

We are a much better side with him in it.
