I've been saying the same for as long as the've been an option.

Our play is so restricted with them both in the team.

I tend to agree that it's a game that we can run without Silva, give the lad a rest as he'll be needed against more open opposition.

Sorry but I disagree. Yes it's a narrow pitch but, for that reason, we don't need width. We need to out-muscle these thugs in the centre of the park.

We need Hart, Micah (Zab) , Kolo, Lescott, Clichy (Kolarov)
Yaya, Kompany (NDJ* with his limited height and other shortcomings), Barry (Silva), Milner (Nasri), Aguero ( Tevez) Dzeko (Mario)

*benched in brackets

Yes we need to outmuscled and also outfinessed them too.

Please don't start NDJ with his shortcomings and poor aerial ability in defense

TH's not a bad team,certainly a way of getting the needed 'talents' of Zab in the team without sacrificing Clichy.

Its nice to know that there are football cognoscenti here in this forum who sees that NDJ shouldn't be in the starting lineup.

NDJ should only be brought on if reguired!

Great thing with the above team, although I think Zab gives us more drive than Milner, is we would have plenty game-changers on the bench...if needs be

Tevez, Balotelli, Pizarro and Silva.

I would be amazed if the team isn't full of height.

Kolorov and Dzeko will both start in my opinion.

Manchester city shall play in blue tunics and white shorts with white stockings.

Stoke city shall play in red and white tunics with white shorts and white stockings.

For those of you watching in black and white Stoke City are the team running after the ball but failing to get it.
 
I really think we should be able to go there and even on a smaller ground be able to dictate how the game is played. If there really is felt to be a need to width and assuming no Lescott I'd go:

Hart
Richards-Kolo-Kompany-Zaba-Kolarov
Yaya Pizzaro
Milner Dzeko Nasri

Write it as 5 at the back or 3 at the back, doesn't matter, Kolarov and Richards are the 2 best 'wide' players we have IMO. Set pieces can still have Kolo, Vinny, Richards, Yaya, Dzeko to head out. Pizzaro's ability to find Micah and Kola would be key.
 
Silva needs a rest,play nasri as the attacking playmaker,put yaya and barry in the middle to dictate the play,milner and aguero supporting dzeko uptop.
Hart
zaba - kompany/micah - Kolo - Kolorov(to whip the balls to dzeko)
Yaya - Barry
Milner - Nasri - Aguero
Dzeko
City win 2-0.
