I thought he`d been out injured ?

From what I remember he's been on the bench for the last 5-6 games.

Might well have been, but seemed to remember him being out for a while.Always seemed to do well at Sunderland.

Not sure? but do u remember him coming to our place a few years ago? or was it just me that thought him good? lol, the only other player i thought great in recent years was Felaini of Everton a couple of years ago! wierd but the likes of Gerrard/lampard/rooney, never impressed me in the flesh!

I do and I must admit that before the takeover I thought he could do a good job at City.

Before the takeover Barry Conlan could've done a good job for us(only joking) Yeah another player i thought would've gone on was Carlton Cole, but can't even get in the West Ham team these days! I used to sit next to a girl that hated Benjani( i liked him personely) but could understand that Jones or even Cole at the time would've been so much better for us, and we could've got them both for Benjani! But hey i'm happy it worked out like it did!lol

From what I've seen, I think it's probably because he isn't as good when playing as a supporting striker, he lacks in pace/creativity and since Pulis probably feels obligated to play Crouch, he doesn't get off the bench much. Either way, the man can put the ball in the net so they should try to find a way to fit him in there.

when you play as badly away from home as stoke do, you'd think he'd be the type of player that'd do well for them away. strong, good in the air, pace, im confused as well actualyl...

What a bizarre thread, Jones has started 10 games this season and come off the bench 5 times, he was also out injured for a month, Jerome has only started 2 league games and come on as a sub 3 times. Jerome also has a better goals to minutes ratio.

I know a few Sunderland fans through work and they'd all got fed up with Jones and weren't bothered at all when he left them. Can't remember exactly what they said but they didn't see it as a loss at all when he went.

Jones has always seemed like one of those players that on his day can be top class, but just doesn't have the motivation I guess, seems quite laid back a lot of the time. Had a few good games against Spurs though...
