Stone Roses tonight

old age probably but I can't be doing with these huge venues/ gigs anymore

if I can only really see them on a big screen then i might as well watch it on telly

back to smaller venues for me catching my favourites on the way up or, more likely now, on the way down lol

I went Sat and Sun thought it was a fantastic gig one the best I have been to in over 30 years.

Certainly the best I have seen the Roses and I have seen them over 20 times.

Ians vocal process isn't the best, but it was good enough.

Fools Gold, Waterfall, Don't Stop, Resurrection were epic

Probably Oasis at Maine Road was better.

The Smiths at the Palace Theatre was a fantastic gig

Loads of great gigs at The Boardwalk and International.

I am now going ot V

I am going to V as well. Really can not wait for it. The line up is great.

I went last night (Sunday) and apart from Ian Brown's vocal starting well enough and getting dramatically worse, the sound getting blown all over the place from the wind - I thought on the whole it was decent. I enjoyed it.

Good set list, really wasn't expecting 'Don't Stop' and 'Standing Here'.

Like other people have said, if you want pitch perfect singing, go and watch The Spice Girls mime for an hour.

This thread has had "go watch Simply Red" and now "watch the Spice Girls".. if you want a song to be sung properly?!

Why is it too much to expect Ian to sing at a decent level. He sounds excellent on record, so what changes as soon as he's outside of a studio?

Is it really him on the record then?

Might be to do with the fact they have used excellent producers.
The problem for Brown is that he does not sing nor shout. He has more of a stoned drawl. This does not really carry live as he would be drowned out so he has to kind of shout and it does not sound the best in the live situation.

I will be honest here and admit that I was extremely drunk on Saturday and have no recollection of Browns singing. But I have just watched what I recorded on my phone of I Am the Resurrection. It gave me goose bumps. You can not hear Ian Brown really above the crowd. To be fair to Ian Brown, I am singing every word and from my recording it is fair to say that I an Brown is a better singer than me.

I went last night and to see the four of them together,on stage and enjoying themselves brought a tear to my eyes, the gang are back and the old magic has returned and it sounded like the whole field boo-ed when mani revealed the glazerites name on the back of his bass before this is the one..
A truly magical night in my eyes, seeing my favourite band performing those songs and not just going through the motions........get the fuck in there!!!!

Are they back back, or did they comeback to get themselves a new car a piece and a couple of holidays paid for? Nowt there to say there has been anykind of effort to make a new song let alone an album.
Not that it was a bad thing, brilliant gig, great atmosphere, And Mani lived up to the promise he so wittingly made on Soccer Am.
Glad it happened, Damn right.

I doubt they're back back. If they can get through all the tour dates then they should have a try at new material, but I can't see that happening.
