Stop fracking

the u-tube clips with fire coming from the taps were a hoax. in the u.s. they do have private wells but the fracking takes place much deeper as will happen over here. Onshore windfarms are just a gift to the landowners, neither use nor ornament to the public. The big concern with fracking is where the water will come from as it uses enormous amounts

Thats excactly what I said in the last fracking thread, wheres all the extra water coming from..this issue it seems is ignored or brushed under the carpet!!

You do not own the mineral rights for land you own title to. This will have as much effect as that rag who was trying to sell off his land in small chunks to prevent City building the new training facilities.

The scientific evidence was reviewed by the Royal Society and the Royal Academy of Engineering and their conclusion about water requirements was:
■Water requirements can be managed sustainably. Water use is already regulated by the Environment Agency. Integrated operational practices, such as recycling and reusing wastewaters where possible, would help to minimise water requirements further. Options for disposing of wastes should be planned from the outset. Should any onshore disposal wells be necessary in the UK, their construction, regulation and siting would need further consideration.

I personal think its a fracking great idea. Let them get on with it.

Also build extra runways and the high speed rail line for me. All about extra infrastructure if we want to keep up with other countries.

the only problem I have with fracking is that we have got it all arse about tit when we could of kept and sold it as a country commodity that would of heated us on cheap for decades maybe to a point we could of exported at a profit.

I don't mind them fracking under my house. It's not as damaging as coal mining and it would be a bonus if it meant that all those fucking useless wind turbines that blight the landscape were scrapped.
You might think differently when your water is poisoned...
You know it doesn't make sense!
Personally, I don't mind wind turbines - we've got to have something.

Well done for posting this, op.

Ah the poisoned water argument, its all over now everyone the argument has been won
Thank-you. I accept your congratulations with humility.

I live on the Fylde coast an area where we are going to get a lot of Fracking and I say bring it on, and most people I know around here think the same the ones who are protesting are mainly people who have moved to the surrounding countryside, I have never seen such a bunch of middle class protesters in my life

We need energy security, the Fylde needs the investment and jobs it's a win a win for all concerned, the Economic benefits far outweigh any of the disadvantages.

Probably the same protesters who protest about supermarkets.

The ones who don't mind going to another community where there is one but don't want one near them.
