Strange/Indirect claims to fame

Sweet Female Attitude got to number 3 in the UK charts about 6 or 7 years ago with a garage tune called "Flowers". It was a female duo one of which was called Catherine Cassidy - I went to school with her and our families were friends. Went on holiday to corfu together. All interesting stuff obviously, but, here's the clincher, Catherines mum is my godmum. Not spoken to her for 20 years though.

They have a bar in one of the Heatons I think called Cassidy's. Not been in as they are rags.
I remember that song, weren't they working at a dole office in Manchester at the time? It was played a lot when I was on holiday in Tenerife so I think it was more like 13 years ago than 6 or 7.

Malcolm Marshall taught me to bowl.

i faced him twice , two years on run in Lancs cup
he was effing awesome , and was only bowling off 5 yards

He was at Denton CC not Lawrence's mate, used to be funny if someone whacked him off his short run and then seeing him go long and sending one flashing past their head at 100mph with them shitting themselves, proper quality guy aswell, always had time to teach the kids.

stand corrected mate, yes he was a top bloke and had time to chat with us after both games

Woah, just checked it out and it was 2000 - thanks for making me feel old you ****

School sent me to do work experience at Shipmans Surgery in 1995. First day he took me to Dukinfield crematorium to see an elderly deceased woman (probably one of his victims) . He used to disappear in the afternoons for house visits. Coukdnt believe it when I was in Ibiza and noticed him on the front page if the Daily Mirror. Beat that for a claim to fame.
