Strategy for second half of the season

Would a successful quadruple be 65 games? I don't think benching a player is enough of a break, winter break or not. It is more games than in Germany or Spain. I'd rather give individual players time off rather than systematically changing the whole starting XI and going out of competitions and losing matches.
63 games with no Fa cup replays.

I see the Rag Cafe are having exactly the same discussion. For quite a few posters, winning the Champions League is a realistic option. Particularly like....' Win the CL. We can beat any team over two legs...'
You misread that, they said they could beat any team whose players didn't have two legs.

Who cares about going unbeaten? I know I don’t, even if we manage the Media will always say the Arsenal side were better.

I would prefer we get the league tied up early and then we can rotate and give the likes of Foden, Diaz, Tosin and other youngsters a few starts in the league which will be invaluable. Would much prefer seeing them start and lose a game then playing our first team and trying to match the unbeaten record.

Strategy for the 2nd Half of the season:
-buy a CB in January, Kompany’s fitness will be an issue, ideally we bring in a CB that can challenge Otamendi & Stones otherwise we should just keep Mangala until the summer instead of spending money on another 4th choice

-try to get the league tied up early so we can give the kids more game time and so that we can rotate to keep players fresh for difficult CL games
-prioritize the league cup, we have a real chance of winning our first trophy early, if getting to the final costs us 3 points in the league I’m fine with it given our lead.
-start working and putting plans into place to sign the following key positions/players in the summer: Sanchez, a CB, DM. Ideally we get them in early before the World Cup even starts. Already looks like this is happening.

It’s all about mentality. We could have won a treble under Pellegrini but we underestimated Wigan and the dream was gone.

Sounds crazy but prioritise the carabao cup as were three games from a trophy and with our position in the league should gurantee us a double.

Similarly with the FA cup as again we have a wonderful chance of winning it. Think we will be beaten over the course of the season so forget the unbeaten record as its extremely unlikely and concentrate on winning all three as that will always be remembered.

League Cup/League double is certainly very achievable.

seems bizarre to change what has been the most dominant campaign of all time, surely just leave it to Pep and his strategy of picking whatever team is appropriate, all things considered( as he always does ) . I'll just sit back, buckle-up and enjoy the ride. With our all-star squad rotation does not mean "weakening", k'nell, our bench would walk into any first team.
