Why the f**k do public sector workers have these crusades to have EVEN better or even maintain their current above the line pensions?? Jesus wept they are so deluded and full of shit it makes me want to vom!
The most stupid and ill-informed post I have read for months. As for those who say public opinion will ensure that the strikes fail, no it won't. There are millions of people affected by these cuts, and they have been backed into a corner. They are in it for the long haul, not just one day. Whatever the outcome of the strikes, this vile government is on its last legs. Messing with the pensions and livelihoods of millions of people is something Cameron and his cronies can regret at their leisure in future.

'Stupid and ill-informed' is the default setting for this unhinged individual.
However, may I divert your attention to the Pat Karney thread if you want to experience the full gamut of his stupidity in more detail?
Thank you for that - absurd in the extreme!

pardon my ignorance, why is it that its allways postmen, air traffic, teachers and fireman that shrike.why dont we hear of milkmen, semi skilled people, minimum wages e.t.c strike. guess the first have had it a bit easier in my opinion...

Yeah right. The comment of a KFA, I speak only for teachers.

Lets face it, you sign on to a job with certain conditions and then the employer changes the goal posts. "Sorry, that wasn't the deal," you say.
"Well that is they way it is, because we pay you and think you have it too good."

I am a teacher, work 50 plus hours a week, don}t ever have the holidays that everyone complains about as I spend time in school preparing, and have a massive amount of stress from the kids and the management.
Don't get me wrong, I fucking love my job, most people couldn't do it, and having done alot of other things this is the one thing I have ever really enjoyed, but don't go fucking me over once we had a deal set in stone.

PS I get very annoyed by people constantly blaming teachers for everything from knife crime, to the rise in teenage pregnancy and delinquency. Oh and for everyone out there teaching levels have never EVER been as high and done by such a commited group of individuals as right now, so get off our backs.

Having re-read that I sound a tad bitter, but it is infact what most teachers think, although they tend to be a politer than me. ,)

Great post BlueHubert. I for one admire the great job teachers do and after a career teaching kids, caring for the sick, putting fires out etc.. I think the people who dedicate their working lives to providing for the public, deserve a good pension when they retire. I'd rather you enjoy the pension you've earned doing a good job than the fuckers in the Banks who some on here seem to have no problem with at all ;

RBS fat cat Gordon Pell given £10M pension pot

7/05/2009

One of the fat cats blamed for Royal Bank of Scotland's spectacular collapse is walking away with a £9.8million pension, it emerged yesterday.

Deputy chief executive Gordon Pell, 60, who earned £908,00 last year, is the last of disgraced boss Sir Fred Goodwin's top team to go.

When he retires early next year , his pension pot will be worth £517,000 a year.

Eddy Weatherill, of the Independent Banking Advisory Service, said: "It makes the mind boggle. He is just one of an army of those who have raked it in, leaving the rest of us with the debris."

Sir Fred, 50, secured a £16.9million pension pot when he retired last year.

RBS, which has had a £20billion taxpayer bailout, announced up to 9,000 planned job cuts in April..

oh come off it

dole to benefit cheats or tax breaks to the rich?

It's a fine line, tax breaks to the rich encourage the rich to remain UK residents and thus still pay some tax. 50% tax is still a good amount of tax is it not?

if the goverment wasnt making so many cuts there would be more investigators to catch benifit cheats

I am mystified why if people are prepared are prepared to stand up & be counted for what they believe to be right ,people who do not know the full details are quick to judge & slag people of .if some one is prepared to go on strike in support of there pension scheme i say god luck

& the staff in the local office would have the time to look at the claim forms properly.

tbc... ad naueseam !

new thread... same old arguments to follow somwwhere

I believe in direct taxation ..all that stuff

50% is too low for the very rich

more importantly there should be wage equalisation

If someone earns 100k how much tax should they pay?

And what is wage equalisation?
