Stuart Pearce

Hi guys & girls, I run a blog following Forest. As you're no doubt aware we've just appointed Stuart Pearce as our manager as from July. I'm looking for help towards an article I'm writing - I basically need info on the guy as a manager, specifically;

What are City fans general thoughts towards his managerial ability? I've read a lot of scathing comments - what is it exactly that has made some of you so angry?

What kind of tactics were typical of his teams? Positive, negative, passing, hoofball - as simple or as detailed as you like, any help would be great as I've struggled getting footage of any proper length.

What was he like in the transfer market?

Thanks for any help and sorry for the intrusion, just want a reasonable and specific idea of what we can expect. Good luck for the rest of the season - most Forest fans, if not all, will be rooting for you or Chelsea to win the league.

While he did a good enough job to keep us up, the football displayed was dire at times, samaras was the most frustrating player I've ever watched, he slipped over loads, anyone else notice that?. Anyway, he's not exactly what you would call a tactical genius but he's a motivator. Think Chris Houghton mixed with big Sam. All the heart In The world, but not much of a thinker. The football was so boring and tiresome at times that going into the concourse for a pie and a pint, while checking the scores was sometimes a better option than sitting in your seat and watching the match.

You picked a very bad day to post. You should ask again in 4 days or so.

-- Sun Apr 13, 2014 11:50 pm --

Hated him for taking the under 21 job when he should have prioritised this club. Really took the piss pulling that stunt and showed a total lack of respect for us

That's sense.

People are saying things like "yeah he was wank" like that was somehow a shock to us at that time.

Given the resources he had, Pearce did a very good albeit short looking job for City. He will do well for Forest, he can provide a spark and his experience after City shows that he has some longer term stuff.

People forget that managers learn with more experience and he came to us fresh out of playing. He'll do well in the game, could manage an Everton or Spurs one day.

An Everton or spurs? Are you mad, maybe a Norwich or palace, at best. He doesn't possess the brain for a big job like that, he's a motivator, with dreary tactics to drive out draws and narrow wins, perfect for a relegation candidate team, or a promotion chasing team in the championship.

I never questioned my attendance, I feel more compelled to go the worse we are.

That said I was shocked we still had 40,000 people turning up to watch that dross, Sunday league is more exciting.

I don't think he'll last the season

He comes across as a prick, the football was awful and anyone who takes a cuddly toy to work with them for 'luck' needs sacking on the spot!

However he did buy Hart and Empenza so he might be a decent manager if the club is skint(like City were) and hoping to stay up(like City were).

I'm not sure what Forrest's finance and aims are for next season but if its to challenge for the league, I think he'll be out of his depth.

Will cost you a fortune in scarves and hats to replace the ones you have thrown at him after yet another shite performance.

The missus finally had to treat me like a 10 year old and said to me - if you throw that one, you are not having another.

Mind you saved me a few bob as well cos she hasn't been to a game since that season

I thought Pearce was OK as City manager.

But I didn't like his antics on the touchline. All that gesticulating and jumping about was a bit silly.
