Sturridge - I love Man City, but I was right to leave

It was believed he wanted £50,000 a week, which would have been too much for a youth play, and if he did, fair play for letting him go.

Real shame, as with games he looks like he will become a good player.

Glad to see there is no hard feeling, and a lot of other players (A lot older), could learn from his comments. Wish him luck, but not at city's expence.

I think he would have a lot more prem games under his belt if he had stayed with us, but Chelsea had been after him since he was 15 (and turned his head long before he went imo), so he had plenty of time to make his mind up about going there. I only hope that John Guidetti doesn't slip through our fingers in the same way, because a lot of clubs will be alert to his current situation.

He'd be in the exact same position here as he is at Chelsea: fourth choice forward

Tevez/Dzeko/Balotelli/Sturridge

Drogba/Anelka/Kalou/Sturridge

So Torres would be 5th choice?

Agree with the sentiment though; a team like Bolton seems about his level.
Torres has is own bench in the medical centre!

Drogba 32 going 33
Anelka 31 going 32
Balotelli or Kalou in terms of talent??

Sturridge is right, you have brought in a plethora of forwards, Chelsea have only brought in Torres in the same time in the form of a striker.

Chelsea are now playin 2 up top with Anelka behind this season.

It has to be said, Sturridge seems like a great kid, you get guys like Carroll & A.Johnson getting up to stuff off the pitch, Sturridge is so much more focused & in a window that has just seen Carroll go for £35m, Sturridge I believe has much more goals in him.

In the 5 times he has played more than 15 minutes this season he has scored.

Good to see he still has great things to say about City.. I fear he might leave Chelsea if things don't work out, but he will make it to the top one way or another.

Sturridge was mismanaged by the buffoon that was Leslie Hughes, if it wasn't for his incompetence he'd have signed a new contract and would still be on our books to this day.

Eventually he'll become a decent player, a few dozen international caps, up there with 15 goals a season.

Ironic though that at a time when we actually have ourselves a capable manager, who's slowly but surely getting there, you'll have some posters occasionally harping back to the 'good ol' days' of Hughes. The good ol' days of a manager who knew how to manage his players.

Unbelievable.

Anyway, I never particularly liked Sturridge's attitude/arrogance, but I wouldn't wish ill of him. The move to Chelsea was a bad one for his development, but at the same time the takeover wasn't the greatest of timing with regards the suitability of us as a club to a young player like him.

Hopefully his will be the last case of a gifted young academy player being released in such a fashion, his departure was farcical, and I wouldn't like to see a repeat.

Mancini would not have put up with Sturridge's attitude either, no need to bring Hughes into it.

I never bought in to the "he's too big for his boots" posts.

I met him at the end of season bash season before last and he was a sound lad, plenty of time for a chat (not all football related) and didn't come across as a big time charlie at all.

Well i have been very critical if not downright rude to him and i still think he went chasing the money, but lets be honest he didnt have to say any of that so i take it as he says. I met his agent though (cock)
